| Canon 24-105/4 IS vs 24-70/2.8 | 23 Mar 2006 09:50 GMT | 10 |
I think most people prefer the new 24-105/4 IS. And many sites agree it's a sharper lens too. I sold the 50/1.4. After thoroughly thinking over my style of photos, I like to take pictures of my dogs in action, indoor or outdoor; inside church; indoor/outdoor portraits etc. I ...

| D70s "CHA" error | 23 Mar 2006 08:01 GMT | 10 |
I've had my Nikon D70s for about 6 months. Still learning how to use it, and enjoying it very much. I've noticed an intermittent error message that seems to appear from time to time. On the LCD display panel on the top of the camera, in the exact

| Nikon D200 versus Canon 30D, one question | 23 Mar 2006 02:41 GMT | 63 |
For an extra $300, the cost of a cheap lens, who wouldn't buy the Nikon instead of the Canon? In fact, comparisons that keep getting made are idiotic. The D200 is NOT a 5D and never will be and the 30D is no D200 or even comparable.

| Canon's problem with WA lenses and FF (the solution?) | 22 Mar 2006 11:46 GMT | 45 |
Lets set aside any question about the sensor and microlenses because in truth, they produce only minor issues with given lenses. It is the LENSES that are the

| Canon EOS350D/Rebel XT - query re 'no CF' message | 22 Mar 2006 06:39 GMT | 5 |
I've just bought a Canon EOS350D/Rebel XT and notice that I can take pictures (!!!) *without* a CF card in the camera. A message pops up on the LCD screen on the rear of the camera informing me of this fact, but I DON'T get any error messages through the viewfinder. This is a

| Olympus's 35-100mm f2, sharper than primes? | 22 Mar 2006 06:38 GMT | 7 |
Response Photo, the French mag. tested this $4000+ lens as well as Pentax's highly regarded 40mm f2.8 pancake lens. The Olympus scored higher than the Pentax (no, they weren't against each other) but it would seem to indicate the Olympus zoom is pretty awesome.

| Bogen 3229 or 3232 Monopod Head? | 22 Mar 2006 01:08 GMT | 4 |
I've seen web pages recommending the 3232 head with an Acra-type quick release. But I see that the 3229 is much cheaper. It looks like the QR on the 3229 is plastic. So does it weigh less that a 3232 + QR? Is there some downside to a 3229?

| Canon EOS350D and Sigma 105 macro | 21 Mar 2006 23:43 GMT | 2 |
I've seen several postings about the choice of Canon or Sigma macro. I sent a reply saying that the Canon was faster to focus and easier to use. I've now found another difference. I have the Sigma 105mm macro and it works with my EOS620 (35mm) and IX and IX7 (APS) bodies.
