Tamron XRDi lens problem with Canon 350D28 Mar 2006 15:08 GMT1
I recently bought a Tamron "SP AF28-75mm F/2.8 XRDi LD Aspherical IF Macro"
to use with my 350D to replace the 18-55 kit lens as I had read some very
good reviews on websites and in magazines. The lecturer of my photography
course has pointed out that several pics in my assignments ...
Photographing the Sun with a D70s28 Mar 2006 04:32 GMT12
In a few days, I will be photographing a solar eclipse's progress taking
successive shots of the sun being partially eclipsed before and after
totality. The filter is removed from the camera while the sun is totally
eclipsed.
So the Samsung is OUT28 Mar 2006 04:10 GMT5
I have been troubling over this for months, but I suppose it's back to
the Canon/Nikon heavyweight match.

give a slight edge to the Rebel XT. As Nikon is about to abandon the

I am looking at getting a digital Nikon body for my existing Nikon
lenses, and would like to know if anybody has any experience with
autofocus through a Sigma 'D' lens? I have heard that there could be
Wide angle for D7027 Mar 2006 22:50 GMT7
I´m looking for a w-a lens for my camera.
It must be of comparable optical quality to
Nikons 50mm 1,8 and about 14-18mm.
Any suggestions
newbie needs lens advice27 Mar 2006 10:26 GMT17
I am buying my first digital SLR - the Canon Rebel XT. I am currently
researching lenses and would like some input.
The place I am looking to buy has a package that comes with two lenses:
Canon 28-105mm auto focus lens and
Samsung Pro 81527 Mar 2006 10:22 GMT10
I don't see the Samsung Pro 815 discussed here. I was interested in
buying one & am looking for feedback.
Does anyone here have experience with one of these?
Upgrade from 20D to 30 worth it ???27 Mar 2006 06:55 GMT21
I'm thinking as many others here about upgrading from the 20D to the new
30D when it becomes available in the US.
Other than the larger screen size do you really think it will be worth
upgrading to the 30D for the price or would you just keep your 20D ?
Monitor Calibration Systems27 Mar 2006 06:36 GMT9
Found out the information on my lens question.  Now how about monitor
calibration systems.  Really seem to be leaning toward the Spyder 2.0 PRO
setup.  Any comments.
Thank you in advance.

Canon 10-22 very brief field report26 Mar 2006 21:10 GMT3
The 10-22 arrived a couple weeks ago.  Since then it has become my "walk
around" lens.  It's noticeably sharper than the "kit" lens that came with
the 20D.  I really like this lens.
Some downsampled examples of snaps I've been taking..
Nikkor 24-120MM F3.5-5.6G ED-IF AF-S VR Zoom Lens VERSUS the 70-200 MM F 2.8 G ED-IF AF-s VR Zoom Lens26 Mar 2006 09:37 GMT3
Hello, Not trying to start a war.
I currently have the D-70S and the Kit Lens.  In addition I have the
80-400MM Zoom VR lens.  It's ok, and I took some great pictures with it.  I
want something in the middle, or I will get rid of the 80-400 and use the
Dark Corners on Canon 5D26 Mar 2006 04:33 GMT109
Has anyone else noticed that on wide angle lenses on a Canon 5D the corners
are dark from max aperture up to about f5.6? Once at f8, the problem goes
away.
I've noticed this on a 20mm f2.8 and a 28mm f2.8.
prime lens for portrait photos recommendations26 Mar 2006 04:15 GMT17
I've been looking at the canon 50mm f2.5 macro to use with my 350D and
EOS5 cameras for portrait photos. Has anyone used this lens and have
some advice on suitability and or quality or should I just opt for the
50mm f1.8 mark2 lens?
Is fredmiranda canon centric?26 Mar 2006 04:13 GMT7
I am looking at the review of wide angle lenses for Canon 10-22 and
Nikon 12-24. Nikon's lens is 15 months older than Canon's but there are
85 reviews for Canon's but only 22 reviews for Nikon's. Where do
Nikonians get their info?
