Battery level indicator with NiMH AA cells in the BG-E2 ?04 Feb 2006 22:23 GMT4
When I use one or two BP511A battery packs in the BG-E2, the battery
indicator level is fine. When I use six AA cells in the battery tray,
the level quickly falls to the second to lowest level. I'm wondering if
this is because of the the slightly lower voltage of the six AA cells ...
Pentax camera/lens combo - practical?04 Feb 2006 18:07 GMT18
Good day, and thank you in advance for your assistance.
I am beginning to look for a digital SLR - never had digital. I want an SLR
because more things are eventually possible by varying lenses, not because I
have really great skills. Also, I'm going to Alaska this year so I want ...
Sigma lens for Nikon D5004 Feb 2006 14:43 GMT3
I have just purchased a Nikon D50 body only and a Sigma 28-300mm
F3.5-6.3 DG MACRO lens for it.
When I am in Manual mode (S, A, M) the selected focus rectangle is on
the right of the screen. Is this the focus area? I cannot change this
Telephoto stabilization from safari vehicles04 Feb 2006 13:36 GMT7
Looking for some guidance on the "less bad" options.  We're looking at
a fly-in to Katavi NP in Tanzania, which has a total baggage weight
limit of only 15kg/person, so there's not much lattitude for bringing
along 'just in case' equipment.
Hot pixels covered by warranty?04 Feb 2006 12:48 GMT17
Should I bother asking Canon to change the sensor of my 20D
due to the presence of a cluster of hot pixels? It really becomes
noticeable at long exposure times (of the order of seconds) in
night shots. It sounds like nothing, but it is annoying to find
how "quiet" are DSLR's for night photography?04 Feb 2006 08:19 GMT15
If I'm interested in doing night photography (mostly of distant scenery)
with exposure times ranging up to 1 minute, I need to know whether a DSLR
like the Nikon D70 with NR turned on will yield a much cleaner image
(dark-noise-wise) than a good point/shoot digital with NR noise ...
Batteries for the Nikon SB800 Flash04 Feb 2006 06:02 GMT6
I love my SB800 flash. It's made as much difference in my photos as...
well almost as much as the difference between a lower end camera and
dSLR. But I'm wondering about powering it. I've been using Energizer
Lithium, but I've been thinking about a battery pack like the Quantum
New $999 E-330 is magnesium, MAGNESIUM!!!!!!!!!!!!03 Feb 2006 23:51 GMT45
I thought it was too much to hope for, given it's $999 kit street
price, but when I saw the images, I knew it wasn't plastic!
Here's the proof.

Adjusting contrast for digital projectors03 Feb 2006 17:43 GMT11
I'm preparing some photos for a slide show on a digital projector and I
know those awful things boost contrast so I'm thinking of reducing
contrast on the images.
My projector bulb is burned out at the moment though so I can't test.
Question about using Canon 20D with studio stobes03 Feb 2006 17:38 GMT3
I have my Canon 20D on a tri-pod connected to a studio strobe by using the
camera's PC terminal. The strobe is GN92 w/100ASA and have 3 stop variable
power control.
The strobe flashes first and then I hear the camera shutter click, which

Lens choice03 Feb 2006 15:01 GMT11
I'm considering buying a mid-range telephoto lens for my Nikon D70s. I have
already had the kit lens (18-70mm f/3.5-4.5) and a normal prime (50mm
f/1.8). The lenses I'm considering are:
AF-S 70-200mm f/2.8 VR
Nik Capt 4.4 manual anywhere03 Feb 2006 10:15 GMT1
I am using the 30 day trial version of Nikon Capture 4.4 for Windows.
I have only found the "Help" manual within the software, not a User's
Guide, and I tried to print it. I was doing duplex to use both sides of
paper when my printer apparently overheated and I'm stuck with
ALBINAR ADG 80-200mm03 Feb 2006 04:17 GMT3

ALBINAR ADG 80-200mm 1:3.9 MACRO ZOOM LENS (Nikon mount)
Has anybody used it with D70 cameras ?
I want to get into Macro photography and this one is very very very
Kind of photography related - Sony Bravia advert02 Feb 2006 23:45 GMT11
You know that Sony Bravia advert (presuming its a global campaign) of all
the coloured balls bouncing down some street in San Francisco? I presumed it
was all CGI right from the word go. Looking closely at the advert only
confirmed my suspicions in my own mind.
