Why Extreme Wide Angle?10 Feb 2006 09:28 GMT13
Okay, this is a little bit tongue in cheek, but I know a lot of you
(from reading discussions on sensor size) are enamored of the extreme
wide angle. Leaving discussion of sensor size out of it entirely, why?
Do you really like tiny little subjects appearing as specks hiding in

feaure set and directness of controls (I'm an N75 user) but am put off

6 vs 8 mega pixels10 Feb 2006 03:52 GMT34
I'm trying to decide betwee the canon 350d and the nikon d70.  I'll bet
this is the first post on that topic ;o)
One thing I'm wondering.  Is there that much difference in the
megapixels?
How can I connect an SB800 mounted on Stroboframe to a Nikon body?10 Feb 2006 02:27 GMT3
I have the Nikon SC-28, but it's not possible to put it on the
stroboframe. What kind of cord/connection do I need so that I can
retain TTL functionality without making use of the hotshoe on the
SB800?
pin hole experiment surprised me09 Feb 2006 23:24 GMT9
I fully expected to see the image created by the pinhole on my focusing
screen up-side-down.  Then I realized that the lens also creates an inverted
image and the SLR already corrected that for me.  Hah, that's pretty nice.

Nikon D50 Date Display09 Feb 2006 16:26 GMT4
I'm new to this newsgroup but recently bought a D50 and love it! However, I may
be "missing the forest for the trees", but I can't seem to find anywhere in the
manual where it says how to display the date in the image. My old Kodak 3600
displayed the date whether I wanted it or not ...
Extender question for Canon 20D09 Feb 2006 11:41 GMT9
I got a Canon 20D recently along with a Canon EF-S 17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS USM
lens. A Canon technician told me that the Canon Extenders EF 1.4x II and EF
2x II will not fit that lens.
I was thinking about buying one of the Canon EF lenses that will work with
A letter to the CEO of Pentax Corporation09 Feb 2006 03:11 GMT24
http://www.geocities.com/ricehigh/A_Letter_to_the_CEO_of_Pentax_Corpo...
The letter was sent out by registered mail on 3.1.06 but it is rather
disappointed that there has been no response of any kind from Pentax so
far. I also discovered that inside the viewfinder of my "repaired" ...

I've updated all my infrared tests and added ones for the Canon 350D

Lots of examples of IR shots in the Sony R1 articles, in particular.
D50, Sigma used in MACRO, f stop query08 Feb 2006 10:09 GMT7
Further to my new Nikon D50 and Sigma 28-300mm F3.5-6.3 DG MACRO  lens.
When I use the lens in "A" mode I do not seem to be able to get the f
stop lower than f6.5 at 0.5m and 300mm i.e. in the Macro region.
I have tried changing the ISO from 200 up to 1600 but it does not alter
does my d70s have a flash problem?08 Feb 2006 05:10 GMT15
I just received my new Nikon D70s and I am very surprised about its
behavior when using the built-in flash:
In P (Program) mode it gives me indoors at night 1/60s, and 3.5
aperture (maximum the lens can do) with the flash activated. Nothing
Microphotography07 Feb 2006 23:54 GMT9
I am looking for a DSLR which has a mirror lock up.  I want to reduce
vibration when using the body with a microscope or telescope.
For the same reason, the metering must be shutter priority and this must
function with only a T2 mount in place to connect the microscope /
