Need some advice on a ditial noise program19 Feb 2006 20:40 GMT16
I'm having a hard time deciding on these two noise removal programs
because I see + & - for both. I know some of you have a much better eye
than I do, so can you please help me out.
In your opinion, which looks better (noise wise only, I know I blew the
photo technical information on Nikon D5019 Feb 2006 11:59 GMT6
Is there any way you can trap the technical shooting  data (in a
database for example) which is displayed on the images in single-image
playback?

Help in choosing the correct tripod18 Feb 2006 21:11 GMT26
I am sure this topic has been beaten to death but here goes.
I am looking to purchase a tripod and head.  I have looked at a bunch of
stuff and I am confused as to what the ideal properties are used for
choosing a tripod.
Dinosaurs18 Feb 2006 17:25 GMT138
The large form factor of the sauropod was eventually discarded in favor of
models that were more efficient at energy exchange, locomotion and
reproduction.
There are still lizards but they are not the dominant terrestrial

I'm shooting with the Pentax DL.  My question
is to everyone about the standard contrast and
saturation settings in the camera.
How would it effected my picture taken at 1/250
Inconspicous Camera Straps18 Feb 2006 03:13 GMT10
A while ago (20 years?) when I had a Olympus OM-1 I had a great, round,
brown nylon braided strap with no brand naming on it at all. It was either
an Olympus or a Nikon product.
I now have a Canon 5D and I dislike both the "Canon Digital" markings, the
What to do with my Hexanon lenses?17 Feb 2006 23:54 GMT3
I've got a nice selection of great Konica Autoreflex Hexanon lenses, eg the
great 85-1.8 (a great portrait lens, can be compared to absolutely anything
of that kind) and a nice 100-2.8, the lovely little 40 mm, some wides and
normals and a 135 of course, and so on.
For the market leaders, they sure are complacent....17 Feb 2006 23:25 GMT10
Canon DSLRs suffered from all sorts of software, electronic and
mechanical problems.  As well as some issues with their old
lens designs being used on their FF DSLRs.  Now Nikon releases
the D200 and this crops up.  Why is it the two main companies

Shutter Speeds for Studio Work17 Feb 2006 02:54 GMT9
Friend of mine is shooting 1/250th @ F8 or 1/125 @ F5.6 using studio
strobes. Foreground exposures are OK, but he would like to bring up the
background more.
He's been told by no less than 3 photographers (who *should* know what
Camera bag help17 Feb 2006 02:49 GMT6
Yeah, I know, sorry about this YACBT(Yet Another Camera Bag Thread). Well I
guess it is time for me to get an appropriate camera bag, so I'm here
asking for some advice.
I've got one camera and three lenses: Nikon D70s, Nikkor 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5,
Help needed with which digital camera to buy!17 Feb 2006 00:09 GMT79
I have been looking at digital cameras and have narrowed it down to 3.
I want to upgrade to a more "professional" camera. It is so hard to
decide! I would like something that I could take great pictures of my
grandchildren,
Looking for a D20016 Feb 2006 16:11 GMT28
Have been a photographer for almost 40 years. Time has come to put away
my Canon FD equipment (will never put away my Leicas) and get a digital
SLR. So along comes the Nikon D200, sounds great, a few teething
problems but all in all the right package at the right price. But can
Problem with Rebel XT EOS 350D15 Feb 2006 22:50 GMT1
I've recently purchased a 350D specifically to take Jewellery photography. I
have a Canon EFS 60mm Macro lens and also a light tent.
I've been experimenting taking photo's but I noticed that on opening up the
aperture to 32f and at 8"the captured image recorded what looked like a ...
I despair of the human race i really do!15 Feb 2006 21:46 GMT26
Was invited a couple of weeks ago to photo my nephew at his rugby club.  All
arranged for tomorrow.  Cancelled cos someone turned up the week before with
a camera and the usual 'paedophile with camera' hysteria kicked in.  They're
playing rugby for gods sake they'll all be ...
