Installing usb 2.015 Dec 2005 18:15 GMT4
I notice that usb 2.0 is sort of a standard for digital file
transmission but my computer has the older, slower usb port.  If I
purchase a DSLR with usb2,
1.  Will this work with the older USB, just slow?
What does the future hold for bodies?15 Dec 2005 16:08 GMT39
If I invest in an DSLR, I know it won't be long before I've got more
invested in lenses than in the body.  Which means at some point, I might
want to get a new body to go with all my expensive glass.  What should I
expect the future is going to bring (say, in the next 2-10 years) ...
Which camera bag for a DSLR, 3 lenses and flash?15 Dec 2005 11:52 GMT6
I have recently upgraded to a DSLR and now have the following:
Konica Minolta Dynax (Maxxum) 7D
Sigma 70-200 2.8 EX (quite huge, ~20 x 10 cm)
Tamron SP 28-75 2.8
Moon photo with D7015 Dec 2005 04:24 GMT6
A poster sent me mail asking how I took this shot and made it not
blurry: http://trupin.smugmug.com/gallery/956734
I took the photo at ISO 800, 1/80. I was finding that it took several
seconds for the shutter vibration to die down because the D70 has no
photography and eye glasses14 Dec 2005 21:09 GMT13
The other day, I had to read something and I didn't have my reading
glasses with me.
I thought about what I had learned in photography regarding a small
aperture making everything appear more focused throughout a greater
Canon Rebel XL 350 D 8mp vrs 10D 6.3mp14 Dec 2005 14:41 GMT11
I'm looking for some advice on purchasing a Canon SLR.  The two I'm looking
at is a new Rebel XL 350D with 8m.p. or a slightly used 10D with 6.3 m.p.
The 10D seems a bit more rugged although I'll be losing some resolution.
Most of the photography I do is outdoors, naturescapes, ...
Lens / Sensor matchings14 Dec 2005 08:51 GMT16
This time I am here asking you for your expertise and suggestions on
lens / sensor matchings. My experience from older days says that no
matter how finely grained a film is, it is the lens quality that
dictates what you get on paper (sh*t in -> sh*t out principle). I
Nikon D5014 Dec 2005 07:16 GMT10
I am getting close to buying a D50 after selling all my darkroom equipment
and trying to sell my nikon film bodies.
I used the Nikon N70 with a sb28 and loved it.
Is the buit in flash sufficient or should I be looking at the sb600 or
Photoshop Elements13 Dec 2005 22:22 GMT21
So now I have a D70 I thought I'd buy some decent but affordable software, I
eventually decided on Photoshop Elements 4 fortunatley I downloaded the
trial version first to make sure it would read NEF files only to find that
it won't work on anything other than XP. Bit research & I ...
Adobe CS vs. CS213 Dec 2005 17:39 GMT9
I am aware of the majority of feature changes. Is there any improvement in
picture quality in RAW? I've seen comparisons with some other programs and
it seens Adobe falls short here.
350d owners: a question about transferring files13 Dec 2005 17:06 GMT10
i have had a look through all the manuals i got with the camera and
cant seem to find much on transferring files to pcs. when you plug the
usb cable in "Busy" comes on the LCD. is it ok to just pull the USB
cable out when you are finished transferring files or should you do
Reason Canon DSLRs lack manual focusing aids?13 Dec 2005 13:40 GMT33
My Nikon FM10 is easier to focus manually than my Canon 20D, which
is absurd, given the huge difference in price...why did Canon choose to not
include a manual focusing aid in the viewfinder? It doesnt make any sense.
Interesting Oly thread13 Dec 2005 06:53 GMT6

I thought only Nikons and Canons had this problem.

EOS20D CR2 format and camera settings12 Dec 2005 05:54 GMT7
I understand that 'raw' format is supposed be just that:
48bpp of the raw levels recorded by the camera sensor,
totally unprocessed.
However, the ISO setting obviously affects the captured
