Is X-Sync speed a "big deal" anymore - now that we have High-speed synch on powerful flash units?29 Dec 2005 15:24 GMT39
I've been plowing through an online "book" on Canon EOS Flash Photography
http://photonotes.org/articles/eos-flash/ (OK - it's really just a web page,
but ran to 99 pages when I copied and pasted it into Word).
In the past I've occasionally come up against the 20D's 1/250th X-Sync
Tokina AT-X 124 AF PRO DX 12-24mm f/4 | Canon29 Dec 2005 00:16 GMT3
Comment? This one or spend more to get the Canon 10-22? I know there is
2mm difference but I have never used a super wide lens so I don't know
how much I would miss the 2mm. Thanks.
Neat Image Calibration Images for Canon Rebel XT.28 Dec 2005 23:55 GMT3
I am trying to shoot the calibration target image from the Neat image
software to make a noise profile from RAW. The one available there
works for adobe camera raw, but I use capture one. I saw some one by
name of Alan Bremner who made that profile which has 93% to 96%
RGB Gain28 Dec 2005 19:06 GMT7
Is there a way to increase the gain of only Blue and decrease the gain of red
and green color using Nikon D100.
The pictures that I take have almost saturated Red and Green colors. What I
want is equal Red, blue and green.

Analogue Lenses on Digital Body ?28 Dec 2005 16:29 GMT27
Jessops (Strand Branch, London) tells me that all of the Pentax SLR
analogue (aka traditional 35mm film) lenses that I have - zoom,
fisheye, macro, etc. - are unsuitable for digital use. Is this a
cynical con. to force photographers to junk their expensive lenses and
lens choice28 Dec 2005 00:43 GMT46
I'm about to buy a digital SLR probably the Canon
EOS 350D. I'll want a 7x or better zoom lens for
general use.
I have been told that Sigma is better than Tamron
Minolta D5???27 Dec 2005 21:53 GMT8
I have 4 lenses that I have used with my Minolta 9xi. 2 lenses are Tamrons, 1 is a Sigma and 1 is a Minolta.
Does it make sense to get a D5? or is it worth it in the long run to invest in a different dslr?
I am just an amateur-enthusiast, who shoots scenics, landscape, and the ...
Does the new Nikon D200 offer life for my SB28 flash?27 Dec 2005 20:29 GMT1
Will the D200 allow me to use this flash in a TTL metered fashion or is it
strictly a manual affair
Carl Zeiss ZF lenses for Nikon?27 Dec 2005 20:27 GMT15
Their web site has been hinting at something of that nature. I guess
the question I have is, why?
Canon 10 - 22 Question27 Dec 2005 18:04 GMT7
I have the Rebel XT and want to get back the wide angle I lost going
digital. I was planning on buying the Canon 10 - 22. I was going to buy a UV
filter for general lens protection and I also need a polarizing filter. Can
I stack the 2 or will it vignette? Also - can I get away ...
computer control of canon 350d focus27 Dec 2005 15:39 GMT1
I've got an interesting application for a DSLR that requires that the
camera is controlled from the PC... does anyone know if and how to
control the focus of the CANON 350d from a PC? Is there any code out
there?

Where to buy a Minlta 5D?26 Dec 2005 17:26 GMT5
I am 99.9% sure that I will buy the Minolta 5D. Now, any recommendations of where to buy it. I won't buy at a retail store, just because I will be paying hundred's of dollars more. I have a great fear of the Brooklyn online retailers (due to past experience).

What is relationship between IPTC and EXIF? How used by image cataloging systems?26 Dec 2005 16:13 GMT5
How are these two linked?  I'm also interested in definitive reference
sources for each of these.
Also, I'm interested in learning about image cataloging systems that
read/write/modify  EXIF or IPTC data.
