Is compact flash airport-safe?31 Dec 2005 20:24 GMT20
Sorry if this question has already been addressed here but I did not
find anything on a search of this NG.
Is CF resistant to xrays used in airport screening machines or can the
images be degraded or erased going through airport terminals?  I figure
Review / Summary of High-Speed Synch in Flash Photography31 Dec 2005 19:10 GMT1
I learned a lot from a few of you with that last post - I obviously had a
few gaps to be filled in this area. I put all that I've learned in a
summary - having done that I thought some of you might be so good as to
review it to make sure I've got the gist of it now ...
UV Filter vs. Skylight31 Dec 2005 17:46 GMT13
I was going to buy a filter to protect my lens & was wondering whether I
should get a UV/Haze Filter or a Skylight 1-A. They look very similar. Are
there any advantages of one or the other? Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Photos from S. Cruz and Lassen Volcanic Park this summer31 Dec 2005 17:05 GMT11
Finally getting around to posting some photos from my summer vacation. By
no means have these been culled to just the best. Given that, criticism as
to what shots to omit would be appreciated.

Does anyone have information on how to build a cable to connect a GPS to the
Nikon D200?
Leica M digital30 Dec 2005 21:06 GMT6
Why the crop factor of 1.3?  People have been using pre-existing Leica
lenses on their
FF DSLRs, and considering what a digital M is likely to cost, I thought
they'd go full

Thanks in advance.

How to set long time exposure for D70s29 Dec 2005 22:59 GMT2
I am new to D70s camera.
I plan to take long exposure night shots. As per the Nikon D70s manual
- I can set the model dial to "S" and then rotate the main command dial
to get "bulb" or "--" but I get none of them. I get from "8000" to
D70 Firmware Won't Upgrade29 Dec 2005 21:55 GMT8
I've downloaded the D70 firmware upgrade from Nikon a couple of times.
I've unzipped it on two different computers.  I've transferred the 'A'
upgrade to the camera using a USB cable, and by removing the card and
inserting it into a PCCard adapter.  I've tried it with two ...
Nikon SB600 - Underexposed when using as slave to D70s29 Dec 2005 20:14 GMT12
I've just got myself a SB600 flash to go with my Nikon D70s. The SB600
works fine normally, but I'm having problems when using it off-camera as
a slave to the D70s. I've gone through the settings many times,
researched the 'Net and read through all the various tips in both the
Is the new Canon Rebel as good as a D70s?29 Dec 2005 15:36 GMT26
I am a newbie to digital SLR's and want to ensure I make the right
purchase.  It would make sence I stay in the Nikon family since I have
two Nikon AF lenses for my 35mm.  But some people tell to go for a new
Canon Rebel XT which is just as good as the Nikon D70s and much
