White Balance for Sunsets30 Nov 2005 22:29 GMT22
White Balance for sunsets should be set to the sunny sky setting. I just
discovered this yesterday, I think that is the correct approach.

Odd dots on Canon 10D30 Nov 2005 17:49 GMT7
No, it's not what you think.
I was shooting panoramas at the Grand Canyon, entailing rather rapid
shooting.  On some of the pictures, there are dark dots that look, for all
the world, like dust on the sensor.  The odd thing is, they're not present

DSLR microphotography30 Nov 2005 04:30 GMT14
I'm looking around for a DSLR for use with a microscope.
To cut down on vibration I would like to have a mirror lock.
(I will be using x20 and x40 objectives.)
Also a remote shutter release would be an advantage.
Uneven transitions between shots stitched into a ponarama29 Nov 2005 10:23 GMT16
Yesterday I took a series of shots with my 20D and turned them into a
parorama with The Panorama Factory software.
I was careful to take them all in manual mode (1/2000 - F5.6 - ISO 200). I
haven't instructed the program to save the pamorama as a single tiff file
Praktica LTL3 needs servicing: vertical shutter only opens half-way29 Nov 2005 06:43 GMT4
Good evening,
My father-in-law has owned a Praktica LTL3 for a number of years, and
is reluctant to purchase a new digital camera because he likes his
Praktica.  The problem is that the vertical shutter only opens
My hands on D200 experience (longish)29 Nov 2005 03:42 GMT107
Well yesterday I go to the local mall to see about getting a battery for
my Gossen Lunasix meter and what do I see on my way down the escalator?
A big-a.s Nikon demonstration going on outside the supermarket!
What do they have there?
tripod for 20D29 Nov 2005 01:39 GMT14
I have a 20D with 420EX flash and 17-85 IS lens.  I'll be adding the NEW
70-300 IS.  I need to upgrade my tripod.  I want to stay in the $300 range
for the legs, so about $400 with head.  I want the best combination of light
weight, strength, ease of use.  What's the best value?  ...
How to question28 Nov 2005 14:48 GMT17

Suggestions for good 'all round' lens?.....28 Nov 2005 12:22 GMT20
I'm looking for a bit advice regarding lenses. Having owned a Fuji S60
pro for quite a while, have to decided to enter the 'proper' DSL
world!
After a lot of thought, have decided to buy a Canon 350D - it suits m
Nikon D2X firmware upgrade28 Nov 2005 10:53 GMT5
Nikon has a firmware update available for the D2X.  The instructions
are straightforward and it looks like it should be relatively simple
and risk-free. However, this will be the first time I've tried to
upgrade firmware in a camera and am a bit nervous about the
Canon 100-300mm27 Nov 2005 15:40 GMT28
Does anyone have any thoughts on the Canon 100-300 4.5-5.6 usm lens. I'm an
amature at best and use my 20D for family sports photos. I know "L" lenses
are great but not in my price range.  Thanks........
Panorama / Montage Technique - Using Canon Remote / Timer27 Nov 2005 15:00 GMT1
I've spent a few hours down at our local airport this weekend trying to get
a good Panorama / Montage type of shot (where the finished shot covers a
very wide angle of view, but also has the same aircraft appearing multiple
times).
