Posting photos on the Net04 Sep 2005 16:37 GMT3
Where is the best place to post photos on the Net, just to share examples
with the group?  Of course, it should be free. :-)

5D - raises more questions 04 Sep 2005 11:49 GMT63
We know from past experience that a "Designed for digital" lens is quite
a lot different than a normal 35mm lens. Some time ago I bought a Tokina
wide zoom "designed for Digital". It was a very poor performer on a
(Canon) 35mm film camera but came alive on a 10D.
A $1200 21MP Digital Camera04 Sep 2005 01:17 GMT24
My $200 Nikon FM2 and a Nikon Super Coolscan 5000 ED, 4000 dpi, 35mm,
Film Scanner. A 21mp digital camera for $1200.
So the choice is:

How can I use a Canon EOS Rebel XT with my Speedtron Brownline Speedotron

Canon 550EX flash - refresh rate03 Sep 2005 17:32 GMT11
I have a 550EX flash that I need to use in bursts - perhaps 5 shots in 10
seconds.  I have it attached to Canon's 6xAA battery pack.  I find that the
first flash and the next is fine, but after that the flash quality falls off
rapidly so that the fourth and fifth are almost ...

which lenses for PacBell Park (other baseball park)?03 Sep 2005 06:55 GMT9
Assuming that you don't have a press pass and you have to sit
somewhere in the stands, what lenses do you use?  For example, say you
have seats near one of the corners, not too many rows up into the
stand?  or near one of the foul lines?
Considering the Canon 5D, but new to Canon lenses...(long)02 Sep 2005 23:48 GMT4
... so i'd like some advice where to go. Here's a little background:
I like to shoot with fixed focal length lenses. My ideal two lens kit would
be a 35mm and 85mm, both fast and sharp. Three lenses, i'd stretch to a
28/50/105 combo. I consider a standard (35/50) and a telephoto ...
EXIF in ACR 2.402 Sep 2005 22:09 GMT3
Has anyone had issues with saving EXIF data when using the following
workflow with the Rebel XT.
CR2 -> DNG (Adobe DNG Converter 3.1) -> PS CS (ACR 2.4) -> JPG
I don't seem to get the EXIF info when I convert that way - I'm not in
Canon 5D: So it's real.  And by the spec, looks very good.02 Sep 2005 17:44 GMT27

While not "cheap" at an MSRP of US$3300, the 2 Lb 5D does promise a
lot:
Finally a spot meter.
Anyone using DNG?02 Sep 2005 10:31 GMT27
Just wondering if anyone here is committed to DNG?  I finally tried it out
last night and really like the fact that the files converted from my Rebel
XT RAW files are 75% the size of the original RAWs.  Adobe says the
compression is lossless, does anyone know for sure whether all ...

Nikon to announce new products on Sep. 102 Sep 2005 00:48 GMT50
Just saw an invitation to a press conference on Sep. 1 where
Nikon is going to announce several new products.  No details
yet - just the assurance that this will be interesting.
Hence, the field is open for speculation, which is probably what
Interesting Question about D2X sensors01 Sep 2005 22:07 GMT25
Nikon are going to great lengths to explain how they capture 12
megapixels of data with their new "dual" sensor in the D2X. They are
describing their sensor's photo collector points of the newly released
Pro D2X cameras as being 2 different types/sizes of collector points...
Continuous mode shooting with flash?01 Sep 2005 19:06 GMT1
In low light situations, is it possible to use the flash while shooting
with the Continuous Mode? (Nikon D50 Digital SLR). I cannot seem to get
the continuous mode to work at all when the flash is popped up. If I
don't use the flash, the photos come out black or very dark.
