| chromakey fabric | 18 Sep 2005 15:20 GMT | 5 |
Can anyone tell me if I need to invest in an actual Chromakey backdrop or if I can simply use a similar color fabric from a fabric store? If the latter is ok, any suggestions on material? I'm assuming I would want something that absorbs as much light as possible to minimize ...

| Cant't read D70s NEF | 18 Sep 2005 14:57 GMT | 13 |
I just set up a new PC with Windows XP sp2 (with Nikon's thumbnail fix for XP sp2), Photoshop CS2 and Nikon Capture 4.3.1. As far as I know, I have the latest updates of everything. I am trying to open a few D70s NEF files which I have opened

| EOS 350D hot pixels | 18 Sep 2005 14:06 GMT | 12 |
I have been playing around with a new filter when I started noticing hot pixels on my 350D. So I did some tests: I have two pretty visible hot pixels in the image. One is bright blue and one is bright red. Both are about 2x3 pixels large.

| Nikon Capture vs RawShooter Essentials vs ACR | 18 Sep 2005 05:38 GMT | 9 |
I recently acquired a Nikon D70s and have been fortunate enough to have had the chance to travel round Slovenia with it taking a large number of NEF Raw images. Now I'm home, I'm experimenting with the various options as far as

| Colour Temp | 17 Sep 2005 16:55 GMT | 15 |
I'm still trying to fathom out the D70, I seem to get a blue cast to all my photo's except those taken on a sunny day with clear sky,I know it's to do with colour temp. Most days in the UK are cloudy so which way do I alter the colour temp to warm it up a bit?

| D70S NEF and Photoshop CS2 | 17 Sep 2005 11:30 GMT | 5 |
I knew the D50 had a "problem" in using a proprietary "NEF" [RAW] format that Photoshop CS2 [PS CS2] couldn't read. To my horror, when I got my D70S yesterday [I already have a D70] PS CS2 couldn't read the NEF format. PS CS2 has no problem with the NEF format created by the

| Nikon D50 battery charger | 17 Sep 2005 04:43 GMT | 1 |
I ordered a D50 from one of those mailorder places that give me the creeps. The sales guy (who actually didn't seem TOO sleezy) told me that the MH-18a battery charger was internal to the camera and, therefore, you really couldn't use the camera while the battery was

| Wildlife photogs need to go beyond camera lenses | 16 Sep 2005 02:06 GMT | 12 |
I've seen quite a few shots of animals recently where the photogs coudn't get too close, for various reasons. What struck me was that although the shots were sharp, they were obviously heavily cropped because noise was evident in them. Noise in pro DSLRs is "attractive"

| 500mm lens for nikon | 16 Sep 2005 02:02 GMT | 17 |
I haven't seen any affordable lenses for the D70 in the high mm range, my store only goes to 400mm Any suggestions? I'm thinking of maybe buying a telescope instead... A 2000mm is comparable in

| E-500; My worst fears confirmed? | 16 Sep 2005 02:01 GMT | 19 |
When Olympus announced it's two most recent P&S cameras, I posted that I thought they'd thrown in the quality towel, choosing to become like all the other slob camera companies out there making cheezy plastic pieces of junk. Disposable crap

| Random flashes from 300D/420EX combo | 15 Sep 2005 07:13 GMT | 9 |
I recently bought a 42EX flash for my 300D, and while testing the combo for exposure accuracy - given the numerous comments about underexposure with Canon flashes - I found I have a different problem. The flash goes off by itself every few seconds, apparently a pre-flash since it ...
