And only one was left standing..24 Sep 2005 11:56 GMT8
Well, here are some sample images from the last of the mega prosumers
to make it's appearance, the Samsung 815.  Too bad for the horrible
noise, even at 100ISO and the poor lens sharpness.  This leaves only
the expensive ($1000) Sony R1 as the only possible DSLR challenger
Canon DSLR Movie Mode... sorta24 Sep 2005 05:22 GMT3
IMDB reports that Tim Burton's new stop-motion animation movie, _Corpse
Bride_, was the first feature to be made with commercial digital
photography cameras:  Canon SLR cameras with Nikon [!] Lenses, instead
of film cameras.
Canon ETTL flash with camera in M (manual) mode24 Sep 2005 00:09 GMT6
On my Powershot G5, the P, Av and Tv mode insists on using
the flash in "fill" mode.  I.e. Av-mode gives me too long
shutter speed, Tv-mode mode gives me a too wide aperture,
and P-mode messes up both.

......Focus issue... Canon DSLR Rebel23 Sep 2005 14:49 GMT13
Is it possible for a/this camera to show one thing in the view finder
(focus) and save something different to the card?
I use several lens, but my 85mm prime, which can be very sharp gives me fits
to. I shoot manual focus, I have played with the diopter, and I am aware
Peleng 8mm Fish-eye and various bodies23 Sep 2005 05:31 GMT4
I have just ordered a Peleng 8/3.5 Fish-Eye from the nice
man at East Wave products.  According to Dmitry, there is
not a problem with mirror/lens interaction on a Nikon D70.
Does anyone have direct experience with this?  I've seen
The stink of plastic22 Sep 2005 19:32 GMT41

350D, D70s, lenses - Need inspiration22 Sep 2005 19:17 GMT35
I just cannot decide whether to choose the Canon 350D or Nikon D70s, so
I'm looking here for inspiration. I've done my homework and spent days
reading reviews and user opinions. I think my next step is to go find a
shop selling them both so I can see for myself what they look and ...
Some Maxxum 5D comments22 Sep 2005 18:56 GMT8
I DL'd the brochure and spec sheet from K-M.
Negatives:
1. Mirror viewfinder (not pentaprism).  If it's the same as in the
Maxxum 5, it is really not great for low light shooting.
Solution to D70S incompatibility with CS222 Sep 2005 11:07 GMT2
I ended up buying the $99 Nikon Capture software which ends the problem
and now that I am used to it isn't all that bad but wastes time. On the
good side is that it allows you to forward the "tweaked" NEF image from
the D70S [or any other Nikon RAW format] to CS2. Still, I would ...
Looking for an EOS lens recommendation for panoramas22 Sep 2005 05:13 GMT25
I'm considering offering panoramas as a regular service for my clients
and I'm looking for some recommendations on lenses for my 20D.
Currently I have a 24-85 USM, and I'm finding the FOV to be
frustratingly narrow. On my film camera 24mm if plenty wide enough, but

Suggestions for Macro Lens for Canon Digital Rebel XT22 Sep 2005 00:00 GMT4
I'm looking to take pictures of things really close up. I remember reading
in some article about the Maximum Magnification, though cant seem to find
it. Something about looking for a macro that has a 1:1 or better.
Any Recommendations would be great...
