Not an slr15 Aug 2005 03:05 GMT3
I know it is not an slr.  But I had to give up part of my Nikon D70 for
this.  Just hanging on to my old ways.

Nikon's D50, the new entry-level "king?"14 Aug 2005 13:50 GMT6
I read the review in Popular Photography (yes, I know
most people don't like it) but they seemed to imply that
this camera is THE new entry-level champ.  Noise is lower
than the Rebel XT or D70s, they actually "passed" it's
How is Nikon's new little ED kit lens?14 Aug 2005 12:03 GMT3
The one they are supplying if you buy the D50?  I assume the ED
will help with CA, even if the lens is slow.

My name is Steve, and I have a problem.14 Aug 2005 05:55 GMT13
I used to work in the retail photographic industry for about 10 years
selling to pro's and serious amateurs and just your average bloke in the
street. We used to get some guys in that had tonnes of pro gear that would
obsess over this lens and that body and do resolutions tests ...
20D and ISO 320014 Aug 2005 05:18 GMT20
I am wondering why Canon made 3200 a special function.  Does that make
sense?

Canon shutters14 Aug 2005 01:20 GMT27
What is the deal here?  People complaining of failures,
shutters rated for 50,000 on one camera, 100,000 on another.
Are they only talking the shutter or the mirror movement mechanism
too?  The reason is that there are prosumers out there with 150,000+
canon 20d flash failures13 Aug 2005 19:25 GMT3
Anyone else have this kind of problem?:
On some automatic mode, the 20d decides to flip up the
flash.  It clicks 3 times (failing to pop up), and displays
err 05.  Sometimes it works, though.
Sigma SD10 & 4gig Microdrive - compatibility?13 Aug 2005 18:22 GMT1
HELP! We leave for Costa Rica soon. The SD10 refuses to format a Hitachi 4gig
microdrive. Some sites say the 2 are compatible, others say 4gig's Fat32
isn't recgonizable by SD10 and that a 2gig FAT16 will work? Will it? Can the
4gig be reformatted to a 2 gig? All informed replies ...
Why doesn't Olympus release an OM-1d?13 Aug 2005 17:13 GMT24
A purely manual digital camera?  But, not a cheap
plastic thing aimed at people who wouldn't buy it,
a high quality DSLR that avoids many the features
now found on current DSLRs?  A centre-weighted metering

Canon EOS 1D Mark II N13 Aug 2005 14:17 GMT16
From the first page of the 5D Spec PDF. What spec do you think it has?
I guess just a minor update like D70 to D70s, possibly won't be full
frame. Plot is getting thick.

Longhorn to get 'raw' image support 13 Aug 2005 09:31 GMT10
"The next version of Windows, code-named Longhorn, will feature support
for uncompressed digital camera images--which could change the way
people view and edit photos.
"The company on Wednesday announced deals with camera companies Nikon
