Canon kit lens review critiques show a pattern21 Aug 2005 13:07 GMT202
If the review wasn't completely positive,
the rejoinders from the Canonites are:
-You didn't do it right!
-You got a bad lens sample!
Konica-Minolta 5D vs Canon EOS 5D21 Aug 2005 12:45 GMT45
Why would Canon use the same model number? This presumes the Canon 5D
exists.

remember how he done it, does anyone out there know how to achieve this?
Thanks

Canon 20D - ISO 100 performance?20 Aug 2005 23:37 GMT20
Hey all,
In RPD, I noticed the following comment (specific attribution not
necessary):
"...[Poster was] irritated with Canon for sacrificing ISO 100
Testing a new sunshade20 Aug 2005 23:33 GMT4
I just got a new threaded generic sunshade for one of my older lenses.  To
test it should I just take a photo of the sky and look for dimming in the
corners?  Using it mostly for protection, but don't want it to clip the
image.
D2X settings20 Aug 2005 10:12 GMT1
What settings for everyday use do you guys/gals use on the D2X?
I seem to remember somewhere that an EV of -1 was recommended?
I only take jpeg files , and use a lot of flash for family shots.
However also interested in settings for general photography.
SD memory speed?20 Aug 2005 08:19 GMT3
[posted and mailed]
What is the top speed of sd memory?  I have a 45X with my Nikon d50 and
wish to buy a faster one in the 1 Gig flavour.  Thanx. AJ
Just to add fuel to the debate about the canon kit lens20 Aug 2005 05:44 GMT38
Just to add fuel to the debate about the quality of the canon kit lens.
I entered 3 photos in the Davis, Utah county Fair that I shot with the
kit lens on the Canon Digital Rebel.  I entered in the Pro-Am division.

Dumb RAW Question20 Aug 2005 02:31 GMT20
Using Elements 3 and a Canon 20D, the camera displays a RAW image but
Elements [and Windows explorer] says no files present.
Can't import what isn't found, even though the image is on the camera.
What am I missing?
An ISO Quality question19 Aug 2005 22:42 GMT34
My Canon 300D has ISO settings from 100 to 1600 and test shots on
dpreview.com show very little difference at 400 and below.
Is there *any* reason to use 100 if 200 has imperceptably more noise
and one stop faster shutter speed is apt to result in a sharper
Canon Kit Lens beats Nikon in every test.19 Aug 2005 22:31 GMT18
Sorry...it's just that Rich hasn't posted in the last few days and I didn't
want to break the continuity of this newsgroup.

D-70 with CR-2's19 Aug 2005 22:16 GMT2
Going to Ireland (in 8 weeks) taking my D-70. As a backup battery I'm
taking the CR-2 holder stuffed with cells.
was wondering (only if I need to use it) how many shots (average) I can
expect to get. I know this is hard to answer.
Nikon D7019 Aug 2005 22:01 GMT11
I have bought a Nikon D70 with the Nikkor AF Zoom 28-80mm f/3.3-5.6G lens.
My previous camera was the Nikon F401 & I'm wondering if the AF Zoom-Nikkor
70-210mm f/4-5.6 AI-S lens will work properly with the D70.
The auto focus seems to work but I've been told that the auto metering ...
D70 question19 Aug 2005 20:51 GMT16
I am looking at buying a used D70, is there any way I can tell how many
pictures the camera has taken in total?
Thanks in advance,
Nicholas
d5019 Aug 2005 13:33 GMT15
I've been reading some reviews (and newsgroup rants, raves, etc) about
the d50 and I would really like to hear what makes it so "entry level"
and might make it not suitable for a "serious amateur"?  By the way I
currently use a Canon G2.
