I have just been looking at the Nikkor 70-300 f4/5.6 ED my local camera store and would like to know what other people who have this lens think of it. I compared it to the cheaper non-ED version and it is much better.

| Just THINK of the resolution! | 10 Aug 2005 19:24 GMT | 5 |
Imagine if they used one of these in a DSLR. Just consider the physical size/resolution capability of it. Of course low ISO speeds would only be usable, owing to noise, but imagine if Pentax brought out another 110-sized DSLR based on one of these

Anybody know if Nikon VR lenses still do the VR magic if there is a multiplier between them and the body? This seems a good way to save money until I can afford some more expensive glass.

Getting light into the interiors of automobiles, old and new, is a PITA a lot of the time. Softboxes are too large to fit, umbrellas have a tendency to scratch paint as they're placed, battery powered strobes glare like crazy, and there is usually no really good place to sit a

| Question for the geeks "Effective Pixels" | 09 Aug 2005 22:22 GMT | 17 |
I recently bought a D2X Nikon camera. Beautiful camera. Lovely pictures. The best wedding digital I've owned. Nikon blurb refers to 12 megapixel images being blah, blah, etc. Delving into the fine print, I come across 12 million "effective

| D70 Fill flash overexposed wildly | 09 Aug 2005 19:27 GMT | 21 |
I generally haven't paid much attention to flash, I don't know what's going on but recently when I try popping up the flash on my D70 for daylight fill in aperture priority, it throws the exposure way off. I just tested & it came out fine but this has happened to me several times ...

| Slave triggers for digital cameras | 09 Aug 2005 13:24 GMT | 4 |
A couple years ago I bought a digital slave flash trigger to use one of my old flash units for my small digital camera. I hoped it would allow me to get decent pictures during things like wedding receptions where people were 30 ft away. The flash unit on my small digital camera ...
