| Mans best friend with a difference! | 15 Jul 2005 19:28 GMT | 8 |
Another slightly odd picture I dug up as I clean out the archives in readiness for the 2006 cards and calendars... This one was shot with a Canon 20D and so called "crappy kit lens" last year http://www.ryadia.com/mans-bf.htm

| Why can't we just take pictures? | 15 Jul 2005 19:23 GMT | 202 |
What ever happened to, "I like this camera line, so I'll buy some more of this?" When did photo guys become such avid market-watchers? And for all the Canoniacs trumpeting their "market" position, why do you feel the need to do this?

| How is this done? | 15 Jul 2005 18:47 GMT | 13 |
How did the photog get this effect? (Large photo with the stars/snowflakes, but forget about the stars. Just interested in the soft paleness and high contrast). http://www.acclaimimages.com/_gallery/_pages/0028-0501-2815-5843.html

| I Finally figured out this 20D resolution thing!! | 14 Jul 2005 21:00 GMT | 8 |
Boy... Am I please all the deciples of EOS got stuck into me when I reckoned the FZ20 had better resolution at low light than the 20D. They reckoned my highly scientific and impeccably detailed analysis of the two cameras was wrong. The 20D couldn't possibly resolve less detail

| Pentax *ist DS | 14 Jul 2005 18:53 GMT | 21 |
My friend bought a Pentax *ist DS kit at Costco for $760. It's a very neat and small camera. The kit even comes with a case and a 128MB SM card. We promptly bought a 1GB SanDisk Ultra II SD card and Costco has a $15 discount for all 1GB Sandisk memory cards this week. It handles ...

Sometimes I just get a single "click" when pressing the button, and then I have to restart the camera in order to make it work. Is this a known issue?

| Pentax *istD and catadioptic lenses | 13 Jul 2005 22:21 GMT | 17 |
There are still several of the old faithful mirror lenses available, if you look hard enough, with the K mount for Pentax. My manual tells me zip and the Pentax site tells little more. They can be used, obviously in manual mode, with some restrictions. That's it. Nothing on what the

| Need Polarizer Advice | 13 Jul 2005 21:59 GMT | 3 |
I'm looking to get a Circumpolarizing Filter for my 77mm lenses. Now that I have two of them at this size (telephoto and wide angle) I'm willing to cough up the $$$ for a decent CPL at this size, which I imagine will run me about $100-$150. I know there are cheaper, but I've ...
