How reviewers shade the truth22 Jul 2005 04:14 GMT30
I checked out four magazine reviews.
One for the Nikon D70s, one for the Olympus E-300, one for the Canon
Rebel XT and one for the Canon 20D.    They all used a kind
of "sin of omission" or visible data manipulation to
Try again. Which wide angle for XT?22 Jul 2005 03:41 GMT4
I have a chance to get used wide angle zoom for my Canon 350/XT. I have a
choice of two. Both are used from a newspaper photographer. He just got a
Canon 1D and selling his EF-S lenses. The first one is a Sigma Zoom Super

e-bay gone nuts21 Jul 2005 18:43 GMT8
Have you ever looked lately for a Camera on e-bay hopefully to find an
individual selling a used one for a reduced price or almost new. Now the
damn crook sellers have over several pages with the same listing over and
over.
Need prints -- good and fast21 Jul 2005 15:48 GMT20
I may need some prints for a show rather quickly, but I also need them to be
of high or very good quality.  I guess I could print them myself, but I
can't get any larger than 8x10.
Any suggestions?
Finally got my Sigma 14mm Lens -- Wow!  And a rant too21 Jul 2005 14:50 GMT15
I've been using a Tokina 19-35mm zoom for almost a year on both Nikon film
(N90 & N75) and digital (D70) and I've thought it was a very competent lens
and well worth the money (under $200).  But since at 19mm on the D70 the
Zoom's angle of view is what I'd see with a 28 on the film ...

Tip: Nikon SB-800 in SU-4 mode21 Jul 2005 04:10 GMT3
Well I finally got around to seeing if I could fire the SB-800 remotely in
manual mode using the D70 and the good news is YES!
If you're like me and you don't find the manual very helpful, the SB-800
has a built-in SU-4 type slave which you activate from the custom
Company partnerships versus buy-outs21 Jul 2005 03:57 GMT8
I think I prefer the Olympus-Panasonic,
KM-Sony thing to outright buy outs.
How would you like to wake up one morning
to read Nikon was now owned by Toshiba?
New backs to give 35mm format shooters the "drools"20 Jul 2005 05:39 GMT15

Question about Canon's CMOS sensors20 Jul 2005 03:06 GMT6
Does Canon make it's own or are they sourced elsewhere?
The low noise they demonstrate, is it completely due to
the sensor design, or the processing in the camera?  By that
I mean that if the sensor is used by other camera companies
Canon's are not noisless19 Jul 2005 22:23 GMT39
It looks like you need very specific conditions to avoid noise,
even with Canon DSLRs.  Take a look at this shot.  Look at the green
areas.  This is 400ISO with a Rebel XT.  The shot exposure seens right
on, yet I clearly see noticeable noise in the green. Given the small
Any recommendations for a DSLR for professional wedding photography?19 Jul 2005 22:15 GMT63
I'm looking for a DSLR for wedding photography. I haven't started in
the business yet and am building up a portfolio (I'm based in Ireland
BTW). I usually shoot with a Nikon F80/N80 film SLR. This would be my
back-up camera when I start professionally. I only have the 50mm 1.8
