Carl Zeiss 50mm 1.430 Jun 2005 22:11 GMT14
See 2nd hand Carl Zeiss 50mm 1.4 in ebay as well as in Jessops next to my
flat...
Jessops sells it at 190pounds. I have a Canon 300D but have just got a kit
lense. Should I go for a 2nd hand Carl Zeiss or the famous cheap and
Ink Jet Printer Streaks Photos30 Jun 2005 18:30 GMT27
Has anyone had this problem and cured it?  I can think of a lot of things to
_try_, but would like to hear from someone who has had it and fixed it.
A little more detail - the printer will streak prints I make on glossy photo
paper.  If I make the same prints on regular copier paper ...
Canon Digital Rebel Metering Modes (300d)30 Jun 2005 17:46 GMT5
The users manual for this camera is almost useless!
It says the camera has 3 metering modes but doesn't say how to change
them!
Someone needs to explain to Canon how to write a users manual!
Coolpix 570029 Jun 2005 12:34 GMT1
On auto programme mode does anyone have problems focussing on the centre
subject (for example a person shot )  where the camera focuses on the side
background, and does anyone have a solution?.

What German on-line camera store (not) to choose29 Jun 2005 12:18 GMT2
Does anyone have an opinion on what German internet store to use and not to
use when it comes to buying a new Canon EOS 20D? I find pretty nice prices
at www.technikdirekt.de but I have no experience with them as a dealer.
Idea for macro photos. Good?29 Jun 2005 03:55 GMT4
I tried putting the extension tube from my 55mm macro lens on my regular
80~200mm tele.  As far as the viewfinder sees it the idea works.  Any
thoughts on using this as a macro setup?  It's getting dark out, but I may
give this a try on some flowers tomorrow.
Costing a Photo Printer29 Jun 2005 01:47 GMT24
Hey guys,
This is not a DSLR specific, but I thought that DSLR owners would have a
better idea...anyway...
Does anyone have a number for the average amount of 4X6 prints that you
D70  auto focus  question29 Jun 2005 00:05 GMT1
In Continuous-Servo auto focus with the Dynamic Area AF set,
(in manual or aperture priority) when I hold my hand in front of the
lens and acquire focus, then slowly move my hand to the left or right
(still with the shutter button pressed halfway down),  the lens will

Sensor size maths28 Jun 2005 15:16 GMT9
I read some very informative information at
http://www.photozone.de/3Technology/digital_1.htm
But I don't understand the mats behind it.
I thought a 1/2.7" sensor meant that it was one sensor 2.7 inches in
Nikon 70-300mm f4-5.6D ED ?28 Jun 2005 09:23 GMT11
Just got my new D70S with the kit lens, and am very happy with the camera .
It does everything I hoped it would do and more .
I'm using the camera for shooting mostly car racing and certainly need some
"more lens !"
"What Digital Photography" votes Fuji's S3 best sensor28 Jun 2005 07:58 GMT5
Brit magazine.
The Super CCD sensor is the best sensor type
out there, according to them.  They compared it
to everything else including full frame Canon,
Portable storage question28 Jun 2005 02:34 GMT8
Just came back from a 2-week vacation. I had 3 GB of SD storage (for a 6 MP
dSLR) and was constantly afraid of running out of storage such that I did
not always store at the best quality. I did manage to fill up all that 3 GB.
My question is the current state of portable storage ...
need help28 Jun 2005 00:27 GMT16
I am in need of some guidence/direction and information. I have been asked
(for the first time) to photograph a dinner/award recognition ceremony.
I was recommended verbally by a friend, but am very nervous as I have never
photographed this type of senario before.
How good is the D50 18-55 kit lens, really?27 Jun 2005 22:48 GMT7
I have seen several test shots where the 18-55 kit lens looks a bit soft,
almost like the Canon kit lens.
So far only this site has samples that look sharp enough:
