Mixed illumination areas25 May 2005 07:13 GMT4
What kind of white balance do you set
when you are in a (for eg) shopping mall
that features both incadescent and fluorescent
lighting?  They never seem to balance each other

How to return bad copies?24 May 2005 22:18 GMT5
First off, I dont have a bad copy of any lens (yet). I am looking at buying
a few different lenses which are synonymous with "bad copies".
I typically buy my gear from B&H (and I dont live in NY), so I am buying
online. So, lets say I buy a Canon 24-70 f2.8L and it turns out to be a ...
Canon Digital Rebel XT, RAW files, and Photoshop24 May 2005 20:50 GMT97
Ok, I'm getting a headache trying to figure out the most streamlined
workflow with the current Adobe products that I have.  I much prefer using
Adobe's Camera Raw Plug-in over Digital Photo Professional because of the
integrated workflow and more user friendly interface.  I've been ...
20D Settings Inconsistency24 May 2005 20:46 GMT14
I'm very confused by this and cannot find an explanation.
I have a 20D with a Canon 70-200 f4L lens attached.
The following was done zoomed to 200

File naming problem 20D24 May 2005 20:39 GMT8
Since I have been using my 70-200 f2.8L IS, on the 20D, I have been getting
something strange. Previous to using this lens, all the images would have
the following naming scheme:
IMG_XXXX.CR2
Finally got my sunset photos on the Web24 May 2005 19:58 GMT18
Thanks again for everybody's help.  Here's the link to those sunsets I shot
yesterday.  Keep in mind that all photos were shot in jpeg mode (normal) and
no processing was used between the camera and the Web, except to shrink the
photos to fit.  My photo Web skills are still ...
A second camera24 May 2005 18:47 GMT7
As an owner of a 20D, 300D, plus an expensive and bulky stable of glass, I
decided to buy a walk-around camera.  The Panasonic Lumix FZ5 was my choice
and, for once, it was a good choice.  Here is an example taken at full zoom:

Medium format CCDs to be monochromatic and color?24 May 2005 16:10 GMT6
I know why they use mono CCDs for astronomy;
They are better (more sensitive, higher resolution)
than colour.  Colour is achieve by the RGB process,
three separate images taken with red, blue and
Best light for final print evaluation?24 May 2005 15:21 GMT14
I've calibrated my monitor, got custom printer profiles, worked it up
in Photoshop and printed it. Now what kind of light should I be using
to evaluate it with?  I've a couple of color management books which
suggest the Ottlite but other articles suggest Solux. What do you all
Another Nikon Question24 May 2005 03:58 GMT5
Please forgive me as this is technically the wrong ng to ask this in but I
didn't find a 35mm SLR ng that wasn't digital...and you all were so helpful
to me with my digital camera questions.
After getting my new CoolPix 8700 and playing with it (my doG there is alot
Canon - Lexar problems.24 May 2005 00:40 GMT12
This might not be the right ng for this but since it could be a problem for
some, they should know that if you are useing a Canon camera and recording
to a Lexar storage device, you could lose pictures.  This was on the Photo
District News website.  RJT.
I want to ask you the most important question of your life. The question is: Are you saved? It is not a question of how good you are, nor if you are a church member, but are you saved? Are you sure you will go to Heaven when you die? The reason some people don't know for sure if they are going to Heaven when they die is because they just don't know. The good news is that you can know for sure you are going to Heaven. May 20, 2005 10:16:43 pm23 May 2005 19:19 GMT11
