I've got a new D70s on order that I plan to use for shooting mainly car
racing photos.... certainly  a dusty environment...

A newbie question please. I saw where the is a RAW firmware upgrade for the
Nikon 5000. How do I obtain this upgrade and how do I load it on to my Nikon
5000??.

Has anyone here ever owned one of these 1996-vintage digital SLRs? How
would you rate it? I know they're seriously deficient compared with
modern digital SLRs, but are they worth bothering with at all?

I went and looked again at the DRebel-XT. The shop also had a 20D. Wow, big
difference in the handling, at least to me. I am not sure I can justify the

I put the camera in 'P' mode and wanted to take a pic in my kitchen last night,
and noticed it would be a bit too low an 'F' number, and wanted more dof, so I
flipped up the flash... now I find the Program wheel doesn't do anything... it's
stuck on 1/60 F 4.

I will get my new D70s in a few days, and consider to buy a good flash for
it. What's  your experience - which are the best? Everyone I've talked to
recommends the SB-800, but isn't it overpriced?
How about the Metz flashes? Are they completely compatible with all

Are these still worth getting for D-SLRs? I'm pretty sure I can skip all
the color filters, special effects, etc, but I'm not sure about those 2
