Here is a statement I received today from Kyocera's PR office:.

Citing "an extreme loss of competitiveness" in their photo imaging business,
KM announces, as part of their V-5 medium term plan, their intention to
scale down their digital camera business.  The business plan calls for
concentration on "high-value-added products" in their ...
D70 Shot count12 May 2005 04:33 GMT8
Is there a way to know how many photos a D70 has taken? It seems to
reset the count every time you format the CF card.
Thanks,
Joe
Why so many photo-hosting sites?11 May 2005 23:53 GMT3
Are these places that lucrative?
I had heard about a year ago that
they'd all be going with a paid

Keeping D70 from resetting picture name each time pics are downloaded11 May 2005 22:56 GMT2
On my Nikon CS2200, the camera keeps track of the number of the last picture
taken and even when all of the picture files are downloaded and deleted from
the camera the next picture will have a number that's one more than the last
picture taken.  This is very useful since it allows ...
First Pec Pad cleaning :-)11 May 2005 17:50 GMT13
I have a D70 and check it now and then by shooting the sky at f22.  So far
I've been able to blow away any dust, but today I couldn't so out came the
Pec Pad and fluid for my first try at cleaning a sensor.
First, you have to lock up the mirror using the menu.  Remember, this

Advise on P&S Camera11 May 2005 17:29 GMT7
Looking for a new P+S Digital, it must be 5 or above MP must have a good
lens I was going to get the Canon G6 which is almost perfect, (7mp also
takes the same battery, memory and even flash as my 20D) but it fails on one
important point.  Because of my dodgy eyesight I cannot ...
What lens to buy?11 May 2005 14:49 GMT21
I recently purchased a Nikon D70 digital SLR camera and it came with a lens
28-70mm.
I am considering to purchase a lens 70-300mm and I want to know if I can buy
a lens which is not optimised for digital cameras. From what I understand,

To the shill who a while back was
pumping the release of Pentax's 40mm

he was a shill, the lens (apparently)
Decided on Lens (70-200 f/2.8L IS)11 May 2005 13:36 GMT8
All,
Sorry to start a new thread, but I thought I would let the IS vs non-IS to
continue for those interested.
Ok, so after careful consideration, I went ahead and ordered the 70-200
Convergence11 May 2005 10:57 GMT15
I think that's the term where tall buildings shot close-up
tend to taper at the top.  I don't have a shift lens,
is there any software that can correct this and does it
compromise image detail when it does?
Olympus to intro new DSLRs...sometime11 May 2005 06:33 GMT2
I HOPE they keep the egonomics of the E-1.  It's
far better than other traditionally-shaped DSLRs out
there.  People need to feel things more than they do
just look at them when choosing.

I'm in the final stages of deciding on whether to purchase a 350XT body or a 20D
body to use with this lens.
The camera will primarily be used indoors in a controlled lighting environment.
Most of the objects I wish to photograph are small and made of bronze, silver,
