Which Macro-Canon or Tamron?31 May 2005 22:19 GMT3

Hi; I'm a guy in his upper 70's who can't make up his mind between the
following lenses:

"film" and "digital" lenses31 May 2005 16:17 GMT20
Someone said in alt.photography that "film" lenses are designed to focus the
different color wavelengths differently to make up for the layered emulsion
in film.  That sounds like non-sense to me.
Opinions?

I want to ask you the most important question of your life. The question is: Are you saved? It is not a question of how good you are, nor if you are a church member, but are you saved? Are you sure you will go to Heaven when you die? The reason some people don't know for sure if they are going to Heaven when they die is because they just don't know. The good news is that you can know for sure you are going to Heaven. May 22, 2005 1:29:32 pm30 May 2005 22:15 GMT4

D70 kit lens cap (for back end of lens)30 May 2005 13:42 GMT7
When you bought your D70 with kit lens what did it come with to cover the
back end of the lens when you take it off?  Is it some thing black, hard,
and doesn't fall off easily?  (Mine did not come with something like this.)
Or is it a cheap white translucent softer plastic thingy ...
D70 vs 10D30 May 2005 12:14 GMT19
I have been contemplating the purchase of a Nikon D70 for the past 3 or 4
months, and it looks like I am going to be ready to purchase within the next
week or so.  I have noticed that you can usually get a pretty good price on
a used 10D, sometimes with a couple of fairly good ...

When did Tamron stop supporting Olympus?29 May 2005 17:08 GMT1
I had a Tamron zoom for an OM at one time,
it wasn't very good, but I was curious about
some of their new products.

Canon 24-70 L or 28-70 L?29 May 2005 10:50 GMT4
Hi, I'm thinking about buying a new lens for my 20D. When I was shooting
film i always wanted an Ef 28-70 2.8 L lens. Now that I'm shooting digital
the 24-70 has entered the picture.
I'd like some opinions from digital shooters who use these lenses.
Sigma 18-50 f2.8 EX DC?29 May 2005 07:15 GMT11
All,
Anybody have this lens? Seems to be a very good deal for $499 and the extra
length makes it more useful for "general" shooting when compared to the
16-35 f2.8L??
20D banding and DNG Converter 3.129 May 2005 05:49 GMT15
JPS said that DNG Converter 3.1 takes the "bands" out of 20D images.
I tried it out and it seems to work.  Why/how?  And since Adobe
apparently knows how to fix 20D banding, why don't they do it in ACR?
