20D Autofocus issue15 Apr 2005 14:10 GMT48
Recently I've had the autofocus on my 20D lock up on ocaision. The last
time I was taking photos in Raw+Large Jpeg, selected one for deletion from
the card, then went to continue shooting but the autofocus wouldn't work.
Powering the camera off then on solved the problem. I am ...

Canon 350/XT vs Rebel 2000 (film) shutter lag14 Apr 2005 17:06 GMT67
I'm considering making the switch from a Rebel 2000 to the new digital XT.
One of the things that's kept me shooting film for so long is that my 2
digital cameras have shutter lags that seem like an eternity (Canon s500 and
Sony F717).  By comparison the Rebel 2000 shutter is ...

has occurred here :( The problem is when I want to

D70 histogram13 Apr 2005 19:52 GMT26
I was taking some pictures of Hibiscus today w/50mm f1.8 for a relative. I
checked the histogram on the LCD on each shot, as well as the "highlights".
Histogram showed a nice high peak left of center, with nothing at all at
each end. But when imported into Nikon Capture, all the ...
A Canon digital SLR with non-sucky flash metering?13 Apr 2005 19:34 GMT9
What if anything does Canon sell that does a respectable job of flash
metering without tons of caveats that'll make use of my 550EX and
75-300mm IS lens.
The more I play with the Digital Rebel's metering with the external
350XT disable flash AF assist?13 Apr 2005 17:52 GMT8
On a recent trip to Greece with a Canon Digital Ixus 500 I was pleased
to be allowed to use the camera in most museums as long as the flash
was not operated.
I am considering getting a Canon 350XT, and the manual suggests that
Firmware hack for DRebel13 Apr 2005 17:00 GMT4
I Got a Digital Rebel (300D) yesterday and it has the "Hacked" firmware.
I have a copy of the Canon 1.1.1 Firmware, and Im sure it will load ok, but a
Google search turned up a couple of "horror" stories about the camera not
working right after going back to the original.
Rebel XT flash problem / question13 Apr 2005 16:01 GMT14
Just got my Rebel XT tonight, somewhat disappointed with the pics
taken in full auto with flash.  they all come out dark with about 30%
of the histogram on the right totally flat.  never had this problem
with powershot S50 or previous rebel. any help? I only have few days
Nikon 28-200mm f3.5-5.6G ED-IF AF and 70-300 f4-5.6D ED - views?13 Apr 2005 15:54 GMT28
I've finally broken the 35mm habit (same Ricoh Pentax K fit for 20 years)
and bought a D70 18-70 DX kit, and I'm very pleased with it. As an aside; I
wouldn't recommend dropping a 2 week old D70 onto a stone wall - the camera
will survive (two scuffs on the hand grip) - but your ...
Cherry Blossoms13 Apr 2005 15:10 GMT2
Someone was asking about the Cherry Blossoms in Washington, DC.  Well I was
down there this past weekend and although floral photography isn't my thing
I did take a few shots.  The number of people on the Tidal Basin Saturday
was insane.  And the number of people standing around ...
RebelXT seeks lens.13 Apr 2005 04:44 GMT14
Hey guys and gals,
It's been nearly two weeks with the RebelXT.  Because of it I've lost my
job, my wife Faith is leaving me for a woman named Chastity, I've had
three car accidents and one barroom brawl.  And a dog bit me.
