Digital Rebel XT underexposure21 Apr 2005 23:22 GMT5
Quick report on my DR XT and underexposure, particularly when using flash.
I'm still a newbie when it comes to metering amongst other things.  It seems
the DR XT is still up to a stop underexposed without flash, and much more
underexposed when using the built-in flash.
Nikon encrypts white balance data - locks raw format21 Apr 2005 22:46 GMT34

I wonder what genius thought this one up. Why does Nikon care? They are
a camera company, not a software company - they give their raw converter
software away.
Sale clerks are LIARS!!21 Apr 2005 22:45 GMT15
So I asked them, "Is the 40x write-speed compact flash card
as fast as they come?"
"Yes."
Well it's not!  I've seen 80x's now!!!!
'F- -'  error caused by bad contact21 Apr 2005 19:46 GMT3
For several months I have been experiencing problems with the
electrical contacts between D70 and lenses. Only after a wriggle of
the lens, the 'F- -'error signal disappeared. Not too serious, but a
nuissance when you want to shoot fast.
New York camera stores are SUCH a riot!21 Apr 2005 14:56 GMT14
You can always TELL these places in the online shopping community.
Go to their websites, check their hours of operation.  They all close
just before sundown Friday and reopen a day later.

Does anyone have any insights on the D70 replacement? Specifically,
what improvements will the new camera have? Thanks,
Alan

Canon DRebel in RAW mode21 Apr 2005 07:18 GMT10
I have a Canon Digital Rebel and the owners manual says that I can put it
into RAW mode.
I just ordered a 1MB CF card for the larger file sizes, but find that there
is no selection available in the menu for RAW.
Why are....21 Apr 2005 03:31 GMT5

Nice Pentax *istD shot21 Apr 2005 00:47 GMT12
The drapes could perhaps be a bit sharper. Well..not if they're dull drapes to
begin with.

Viewfinder view size21 Apr 2005 00:06 GMT2
I am currently investigating which DSLR to buy (using the Minolta A1 now).
One thing you don't read about much in all the reviews is the size and
brightness of the viewfinder. I was able to check out the Canon 350D and
the Pentax *ist Ds and to my surprise the 350D's viewfinder is ...
