Contax reconsidered11 Mar 2005 21:14 GMT1
All I remember about Contax is that;
1.  The lenses cost a fortune.
2.  It took great pictures.
3.  The mid-1980s model I held had superb feel and construction and

Minolta 7D vs. Nikon D7011 Mar 2005 15:53 GMT51
I currently have a Minolta 35mm camera with 4 AF lenses.
I had planned on buying the Minolta Maxxum 7D for the anti-shake and
lens compatibility values.
However, I have also been considering the Nikon D70 package that comes
I LOVE my Canon 20D11 Mar 2005 15:37 GMT6
I have been using my Canon 20D DSLR for about a month now and cannot
begin to say how happy I am with it.  It is built very sturdy, is easy
to use (although, I still need to sit down with the manual and spend
some time experimenting with the advanced features :), and it takes
D70 Book (CD) Review11 Mar 2005 14:10 GMT11
I just purchased Thom Hogan's "Complete Guide to the Nikon D70.  I haven't
finished it yet (over 500 pages in pdf format), but it's well written and
explains the ins and outs of the D70 far better than the manual that comes
with the camera.
Canon Rebel10 Mar 2005 23:47 GMT5
This past weekend I purchased a Digital Rebel, and for the most part I am
very pleased especially on Price.
There are a couple of things that I have a question on however;
1.  When I am downloading to the computer, it seems to be very slow compared
Nikkor 12-24 vs. Canon 10-2210 Mar 2005 22:18 GMT80
Finally I am going to switch from film totally. I am to either go
Canon or Nikon and totally based on this WA question. I will do 85% of
my work with the WA lens. My work is crime scenes. Mostly alleys and
interiors ... some at night. I prefer not using flash and rather use a

Dumb mistake...10 Mar 2005 18:19 GMT14
In Thom Hogan's book (CD) one of the tips he gives is to make sure when you
put your camera away you change any settings back to normal.  Well, I had
just taken some macro photos using an incandescent lamp, had changed the wb,
and put it away like that.  Later that day I grabbed ...

Zoom Lens recommendations?10 Mar 2005 05:23 GMT22
After purchasing a Digital Rebel with hopes of being able to use existing
lenses, and finding out that my existing lenses do not work, I find myself
in the market for a Zoom lens.
Does anyone have any recommendations for a good zoom in the <$400 price
6 or 8 MPIX?09 Mar 2005 23:02 GMT39
I'm looking at something like a Minolta A1 or A2, or Panansonic Lumix FZ5.
I also see cameras like the Canons 300D, 20D, 350, Nikon D70, Pentax
*istDS and Minolta 7 on some websites.
Is 8 Mpix really that much better than just 6?  I want to make prints up
