"Smartmedia card can't be formatted" ???17 Mar 2005 05:47 GMT2
I can't format it in my computer or camera.  Is there anything else I
can try?  It looks fine.
new digital body - old lenses17 Mar 2005 05:23 GMT8
I started with digigal cameras with a simple point and shoot.  I'd now
like to evolve into a  slr system.
I have a couple of older Nikon lenses that I used with my Nikon film
bodies.
Backfocus - different lenses give different focal planes?16 Mar 2005 22:41 GMT31
I tested the backfocus of the Maxxum 7D.  Links below.
For the 100mm lens, all seems well.
For the  50mm lens, it seems to focus camera side of the target.
Any ideas?
Suggestions on a 300mm telephoto for Drebel 30016 Mar 2005 21:43 GMT1
Anyone have any suggestions on a 300mm telephoto for the Canon Drebel
300?  I currently have a Quataray 100-300 f4.5...I know, I know...you
get what you pay for but money is an issue.  I would like to get
something faster because I shoot a lot of fastpitch softball and soccer
What hardware to burn CF card to CD without a computer?16 Mar 2005 02:15 GMT19
I'd like to travel without carrying a notebook computer and copy the
image files from CF cards to a CD, preferable several CF cards to a
single CD. I'd then mail the CD home for safe keeping. Is there such a
thing as a CF-card-to-CD burner that does not required a separate

This will surely turn up in smaller, lower cost projectors (with time).

Canon RebleXT vs. 20D?15 Mar 2005 17:48 GMT29
Does anyone who has tried the XT have on opinion as to whether the 20D is
worth $500 more?  I'm most interested in shutter lag.  I'd really like a
digital camera that could do as good a job as a $5 throw-away film camera
when it came to letting ME decide when to take the picture.  ...
Ratings on build quality from Brit mag15 Mar 2005 11:50 GMT22
They disliked the Canon 300 and Nikon D70 builds, saying
the build quality was poor.  They loved the Canon
20D's build quality.  Does the plastic outer housing
on the cheaper cameras really matter from a durability
is current lens for dSLR compatible with future full frame body?15 Mar 2005 10:18 GMT8
Say if I want to buy "CANON EF-S 17-85MM4.0-5.6 IS USM" for XT. I am
wondering after few years whether this lens is still compatible with
future full frame body?   Afterall, many prosumer will spend lot of
money for this. It's hard to predict the future, but is it
Photography videos (DVD)15 Mar 2005 05:26 GMT2

Canon 75-300 IS15 Mar 2005 02:11 GMT7
Take what the naysayers post about this lens with a grain of salt.  Most of
them have never owned it, which is obvious from their comments.  This shot
was taken in the Florida Everglades under cloudy conditions and from a
crowded tram ride that was bumping and jerking and ...
20D lockup15 Mar 2005 00:31 GMT9
It happened today with a 100-400 IS lens (which is kind of interesting since
I searched a few forums and found others reporting the same lens when their
20Ds locked up). My 20D has the latest firmware (it came with it).
My symptoms were pretty much identical to what has already ...
