Dust in Canon EF 70-200L f/4 lens28 Feb 2005 15:00 GMT2
Quick question.  I haven't noticed it in my photos but there is a piece of
lint/dust on the inside of the front element of my 70-200 lens.  It's close
to the middle of the element.  Will I not notice it because of it being
heavily blurred?  If it is a problem can most camera stores ...

Panasonic Leica LC128 Feb 2005 14:55 GMT1
Hi Group,
I was shown the Panasonic/Leica LC1 camera today by Jessops (as is often the
case they didn't know much about it ... to the point of insisting it didn't
have auto-focus !). It seemed nice and simple... just the ghastly EFV to put

lens cleaning28 Feb 2005 05:50 GMT9
I made a newbie mistake and stored my Canon EF-S 18-55mm kit lens
without the cap on it.  Now, when I mount it on my camera, the
viewfinder has a look to it that I can only describe as grainy.
Is there anything I can do about this myself?  Should I take the

Photoshop can't seem to read the images in NEF mode , is there any way

When Canon brings this out, I wonder if it
will be like the Sony vidcam that could see

EOS 300D vs. EOS 350D27 Feb 2005 03:13 GMT22
I'm just an average amateur photograph.
Now I have EOS 500N with EF 35-80mm 1:4-5,6 and EF 80-2001:4,5-5,6 II, which
I would like to change with digital SLR camera.

OK, this may be a naive question, and it may have been discussed before
(though I can't find much anywhere), but I was just wondering why the Kodak,
Fuji, and Linhof digital cameras are seemingly absent from the debate?
The Kodak and Linhof offer full-frame sensors with a Nikon ...

Remember how much an F4 Nikon body cost?
Remember when $1200 bought a good SLR body?
What is with the $5000+ price tags on the top

Nikon D70 + Focus Points + Lens26 Feb 2005 20:04 GMT20
Learning Photography so some basic questions!
First Question is on Focus Point. I shoot a snap in two ways.
1. Default is Closest Subject and lets say left focus point is
selected. But I do not want left focus point as the main subject. So I
E10 vs. E300 vs. Nikon D7026 Feb 2005 18:48 GMT12
Hi Group,
I'm thinking of upgrading my Oly E10 even though it has a nice fast,
fixed F2 lens : Upgrade to the E300 because I don't like the sound of "dust
problems" ; D70 because it's a faster & possibly has a better lens than the
Why we should all hope the D2X is great25 Feb 2005 21:58 GMT18
I won't ever be buying one but any advance in design, image quality,
or features only makes the other manufacturers try harder.  I was
really happy to see the Minolta come out with a body based system of
image stabilization because the other camera manufacturers must now be
