| Sigma vs. Tamron for EOS? | 31 Dec 2004 02:13 GMT | 73 |
Since that last thread was so popular ;-) In general is Tamron glass better, worse or the same as Sigma? I've never tried any Tamron lenses and was considering trying a 28-75 f/2.8 or even the 28-300 since it seems the magazines rate them so highly (not too

| A question about ISO on a hacked Canon dRebel | 29 Dec 2004 21:44 GMT | 6 |
I've loaded the hacked code into my dRebel and it works fine, so far. When I set ISO to 3200, is this done by bit shifting or analog amplification ? In some usenet group someone said that 800 _might_ be the fastest

| Nikon NEF import into PS CS problems | 29 Dec 2004 16:41 GMT | 5 |
OK, a little problem with CS and RAW. I've been using the Adobe RAW plug-ins (upgrading as they have become available) to work on NEF (Nikon) RAW files. No problem until recently. Every time I've opened an NEF into CS, I got the entire, multi-tabbed menu.

| When will electonic viewfinders improve? | 29 Dec 2004 15:32 GMT | 30 |
Right now, in some instances using non-autofocusing long lenses, they are very poor for trying to focus. What is needed are finer pixels in these things. I'm wondering if they've reached a wall since I've seen no improvement in viewscreens in five years.

| 20D hot pixel | 27 Dec 2004 20:30 GMT | 11 |
I got one white hot pixel. Should I bother to exchange it? How many people have got a perfect sensor? My last Digital Rebel (2nd one actually, the first one was exchanged for another reason and I didn't doa pixel test) had no dead/hot pixels. Thanx.

| second 20D dies... | 25 Dec 2004 07:06 GMT | 41 |
This is the second 20D I've had that totally died after changing lenses. No amount of "battery out", batter in has any effect. Geezz these cameras are sh.t! Why does it happen in the high season? why on Fridays? Why just before the second busiest day of my year? Because it can, I ...
