| Basic question about contrast and gamma | 27 Feb 2008 02:28 GMT | 10 |
Hi ng, I'm just begining to dive into the photographic process, so my practical experience is still scarse. - I try to figure out the basics in a theoretical way first. In case of the negative/positive process

| Kodak Poster | 25 Feb 2008 21:32 GMT | 3 |
I just got a hold of an old Kodak poster at an auction over the weekend. It's 19"x30" in sepia. The words "Kodak Keeps Them Little" across the top, a picture of a little girl on a tree branch holding a teddy bear, and the words "Enlarged from a snapshot made on Kodak

| B&W film developing questions | 23 Feb 2008 20:43 GMT | 89 |
Ok, I just developed my first 3 rolls of film at home, and except for a little bit of dust on the last roll the results are excellent. I'll sporadically be developing more over the next couple of months. I'm using Rodinal, Arista's indicator stop bath, Arista's Universal

| Developing C-41 APS film at home with black and white chemicals | 22 Feb 2008 23:16 GMT | 4 |
I know this borders on the ridiculous. Someone advertised an APS camera for sale on a local mailing list, and this brought back memories. I have several APS cameras all bought for nearly nothing years ago and a lot of C-41 APS film, all bought out of date and they sat at room ...

| Leitz Focomat IIa glass film holder | 17 Feb 2008 16:17 GMT | 19 |
I am so bummed out. Dropped and scratched the double-glass film holder for the Focomat IIa. I have never seen them FS or auction. Any ideas on what kind of glass I should be looking for? I think I may have no choice but to cut a couple glass 4x5 holders and shim them tight. Until ...

| Ilford EXPRESS paper | 10 Feb 2008 14:17 GMT | 12 |
I have the opportunity to buy vast quantities of Ilford Express paper in 10" and 5" rolls from 50 to 100' lenghts. While I have read Ilford's literature on this stuff, I can't sift the BS from what might be important to a serious (eg not mass-consumption) printer.

| Darkroom safe light | 09 Feb 2008 23:24 GMT | 8 |
Hi, I've had a discussion with a friend of mine about darkroom safe light. Even if on Ilford Multigrade paper box a light brown safelight is indicated, in my opinion a red safelight works well too. Or, better,

| Home printing suggestions | 03 Feb 2008 05:27 GMT | 42 |
Ok, so I found an Omega B-22 with safelight, timer, lenses, neg carriers and a couple of 11x14 trays for $75. I'll be doing both fiber and RC so need some ultra-economic ideas (both cost-wise and space-wise) for washing, squeeging and drying.
