FG7 ?16 Nov 2006 03:21 GMT10
On that other topic on Efke 50 film, one poster mentioned developing
that film in FG7.
What is the short version of why this developer is so unique?  I used
it 40 years ago but I can't recall the reason I did.
Ethol UFG.15 Nov 2006 16:54 GMT3
I saw a developer called Ethol UFG recently which I suspect is more well
known in the US rather than Europe.
Can anybody tell me something about this product and how it compares with
D-76/ID-11 ?

I have a problem with my E-6 processing.
Kodak 100G, standard time for developers. slides have a pink hue, and seem
to be underexposed.
I tried longer 1st dev times and 105f temperature, but still get the same
RA-4 formulas13 Nov 2006 04:46 GMT1
Does anyone have any good (consistant) home-mixed RA-4 formulas?  Do
they use CD-3 0r CD-4. I've seen both on the internet and tried a few
without consistant results. Any help would be welcome.

[Slightly] OT: Another data point in the "metric or not" debate07 Nov 2006 02:38 GMT10
Regarding the ongoing debate over metrification for the U.S. and few
other places that aren't currently "with the program" (yes, Virginia,
there is a robust debate over this, believe it or not), another data
point. I recently bought something at Ikea. Now, of all the companies
Processing times in rotary tube processors03 Nov 2006 13:59 GMT1
Are processing times for the various rotary tube processors
transferable from one brand to another? In particular, would Jobo times
be transferable to a phototherm processor? (Note: I don't think that
phototherm includes a presoak and the temperature is 75F, so let us

Hewes reels need the clips02 Nov 2006 00:24 GMT1
I had the great fortune to pick up a King Concept rotary film processor
the other day.  It uses only Hewes reels, which were sold as "Omega
Arkay/King Concept Hewes" reels with the clips.
I can still find Hewes reels but the clips are tough to find so I'm

Glycin and Gold Toning FB prints01 Nov 2006 23:44 GMT4

I've just finished 250 grams of Glycin I
bought in July. That's certainly the shortest
time I've ever had for actually using up a
What do you hang you film hangers on?01 Nov 2006 23:33 GMT9
It's small request, but, once you take your film out of the tank and attach
the film hangers what do you hang the hangers on? Currently I'm using a
couple of dry wall screws with some alligator paper clips, but there got to
be a better way ...
Fuji QuickLoads or Kodak ReadyLoads for B/W?01 Nov 2006 23:26 GMT9
I am considering using either Kodak (100TMX) in ReadyLoads or Fuji 100 Acros
in QuickLoads for my 4x5 camera. Does any one use either of these films
regularly and are their any pros/cons for using one manufacturers film
holder over another?
Free HCA?01 Nov 2006 21:25 GMT26
Just occurred to me: why can't people like me, who live near an ocean,
just go there and, say, fill a 5-gallon container with seawater every so
