Anyone still making commercial optical color prints?08 Oct 2006 18:29 GMT1
Not absolutely on topic here (but close), and I think I've asked this
here before, but I still want to know: is there anyone in the SF Bay
Area who still makes optical color prints commercially (as opposed to
scanning and printing digitally)? I'm interested in prints from 35mm
producing colour slides using negative film and a slide copier07 Oct 2006 22:00 GMT8
Is there any suitable film that could produce a colour transparency
from a colour negative image using a slide duplicator?
If not then my options would seem to be (1) scan the negative and
convert to positive then send to digital slide printing lab or (2) make
Sodium thiosulfate--anhy or penta?colourless crystalline07 Oct 2006 16:34 GMT3
I just bought sodium thiosulfate from a chemical store. The label did not
indicate whether it was anhydrous or pentahydrate. I asked the store and they
said it was not indicated either. The chemical is from China. The detail is
only: sodium thiosulfate, 99% photo grade.
which tank I can use for my JOBO 2501 reel?06 Oct 2006 23:24 GMT5
finally I get a JOBO 2501 reel for my 3m long B/W film. Here I have the

1. which tank I can use for this reel? 2521 or 2513 tank?
2. can 2501 reel be placed in 2513 tank?
enlarger timers06 Oct 2006 22:07 GMT10
I'm putting together a darkroom for casual use by myself and my
daughter, using some equipment I had from 30 years ago and trying not to
invest too much more.  In my box of old equipment is an M. H. Rhodes
darkroom timer like this one: http://tinyurl.com/pwcoz.  I'm not
Epson scanner06 Oct 2006 05:27 GMT20
I am looking to purchase a scanner for my negatives. Has anyone used the
new Epson V750-M Pro?
This is a flatbed scanner. Is this ok for negatives or should I invest
in a dedicated film scanner instead?
Sodium bisulfate03 Oct 2006 16:59 GMT7
In my zeal to find local sources of photo chemicals, I came across a tub of
sodium bisulfate in the pool supplies section of my hardware store.
Unfortunately, I can't find any formulae to use it in. I was hoping for a
stop bath, but am I plumb out of luck or what?
