"classic" black and white films16 Apr 2006 03:54 GMT12
In the latest Freestyle catalogue films like Efke and Berger are
offered for sale.  They are supposed to be of the same emulsion as
films from 60 years ago were.  Has anyone been using these?  I would
assume developing in D76 or D23 would be the way to go?  Has anyone

Is there a published formula for a replenisher to match Formula #22,
"Microphen-like" developer in the Darkroom Cookbook?

Anti-Newtonion glass for 4x513 Apr 2006 04:50 GMT17
I have a Omega DIIv and want to change the original 2 glass plates on
the 4x5 negative holder.  I haven't used it because both pieces of glass
which scratch marks on them; instead I use a glassless 4x5 holder.  I
was told that I should install Anti-Newtonian glass.  What is the
Is your digital camera compatible with your computer?12 Apr 2006 06:03 GMT3
Is your digital camera compatible with your computer?
So you recently bought a digital camera or perhaps your thinking about
it. And perhaps you may be wondering how many pictures will your
computer hold? First you need to answer a few questions?
how to dark outline the edges of prints??12 Apr 2006 06:01 GMT5
okay, you know how sometimes your negative will be slid down a little
too far in the carrier and a little line of light will burn a dark
black outline around the edge of your print? anyway, i really like this
look a lot and have seen prints with the black outline around the whole
Negatran Care11 Apr 2006 06:01 GMT1
I was wondering if anyone has had experience with Beseler's 35mm Negatran.
They are great when running through many pictures. Problem is that the film
tends to buckle causing excess film bulge. Tried taking it apart and
cleaning all surfaces with alcohol. That seams to make things ...
Thanks Unique Photo11 Apr 2006 00:54 GMT1
Last month I ordered 500 sheets of Ilford Multigrade from Unique Photo.
They said they no longer had the exact stuff I wanted in stock, but
they would try to find it.  They did...in England.  They got it shipped
over here and sent it off to me.  Our friends at UPS ...
Maco Tp 64c: alternative developers10 Apr 2006 23:06 GMT7
Hi all, I want to try Maco TP 64 C film. I know the suggested developer
is Maco Docufine LC, a low-contrast developer. From MSDS it is made by
HQ, sodium hydroxyde and sodium carbonate. Because of the difficult to
find it I'm looking for alternative developers, such as Rodinal, or

Digital to film08 Apr 2006 15:59 GMT14
Is there a slick way of putting digital images on film other than a copy
stand and shooting film of a print?  I have a number of digital images that
I have photochoped or want as transparencies or negs, preferably on 120.  I
can still do things in the darkroom that I can't do ...
Extra lenses with enlarger - why?07 Apr 2006 16:42 GMT37
Okay - this might sound like a dumb question - the "new" enlarger I just
picked up (1960s vintage Opemus III) has two lenses, with the numbers 4.5/55
and 4.5/75 on them. 4.5 is the maximum aperture, of course, and I presume
the 55 and 75 refer to focal lengths. Why would I want this ...
Reciprocity05 Apr 2006 06:18 GMT8
In the past reciprocity has been a concern when processing films if the
chemicals and water vary too much in temperature.  Is this still true
with modern b/w film emulsions?
Question on Outdated B&W film04 Apr 2006 22:21 GMT6
I just found 2 rolls of Forte Fortepan 400 B&W print film I had ordered
from B&H in 2004. They are dated as expiring in July 2005. The film has
been
stored at room temperature since I received it. Does anyone have any
