Mounting Boards in Europe28 Apr 2006 19:30 GMT2
Could anybody recommend a good European mail order
supplier(s) of quality boards suitable for dry mounting ?
I'd prefer precut standard sizes than bulk sheets.
Thanks,
Chenistry in developing Photographs28 Apr 2006 04:20 GMT15
Greetings, I am new to the group.
I am currently working on a project for my high school. I am
researching the chemical reactions in developing photographs.
If any one has any web sites or books that have this information in its
Moving from TMY to Delta 40026 Apr 2006 13:50 GMT31
Can someone explain to me the subtlies between these two films. I recently
decided I'd switch from Kodak TMY 400 to Ilford Delta 400. My developer is
XTOL. My first set of negs turned out really dense. What's the difference in
B+F between these two? The difference in development ...

Componar 60/425 Apr 2006 10:55 GMT4
Just wanted some information and advice.  I am presently using a
Schneider Componon-S 50mm enlarging lens and am thinking of getting a
60mm Schneider Componar 60/4 in order to avoid light fall off.  How does
the Componar compare to the Componon-S?  I work in B+W only.  I know
While On Mats and Mounting21 Apr 2006 22:44 GMT1
Visit www.nedcc.org . Details and sources for Home-Made
starch paste, humidification and wrinkles, which paper for
hinges, mounting this way and that, etc, etc. I think Mr.
Erlick pointed to the site a year or so ago. Dan
No more under mats?20 Apr 2006 14:57 GMT4
A salesperson has told me that now that acid-free foam core is available,
many framers are dispensing with the undermat. They just mount prints
directly between the foam core and over mat. Any opinions about this
practice?
Sometimes I want to use the old fim.20 Apr 2006 11:21 GMT13
Bu it may be fogged.  Some of my Plux-X is age-fogged.
I know it can't be eliminated, but can it be dealt with to any degree?
Would these compensations help:
1. Don't use a fresh developer.  That often adds to fog by developing
Enlarging lens question19 Apr 2006 23:26 GMT24
I picked up a couple of enlarging lens today at a yard sale and was
wondering about the quality.
One is a Beslar 50mm f/3.5 and the other is a El-Omegar 50mm f/3.5
Are these lens worth using or should I dump them??
Ortho Films19 Apr 2006 01:19 GMT5

I want to produce text masks for photo cards and am wondering if I can
do so with it.
Darkroom Smell: old KRST or Dead Mouse18 Apr 2006 22:43 GMT1
Recently, there's been this persistent "smell" in my darkroom. Not the usual
vinegar or sulfurous smell either. I took the top off of a bottle labeled
"KRST 500:1" that I'd been saving for some reason and it seems the likely
culprit. The only other thing was that I'd left some Agfa ...
Ilford Comparisons18 Apr 2006 10:57 GMT4
... Ilford Delta 100 and FP4plus?
What's the difference in contrast, latitude, etc.?
And how have you dealt with the differences?

Imitating classic BW photos17 Apr 2006 09:54 GMT5
I want to imitate the warm (?) look found in Charles Sheller's and
Edward Weston's work with industrial sites - Armco and Ford. I am
working in 35mm format. Anyone have suggestions for paper and
developer?
Anybody...17 Apr 2006 03:40 GMT5
I need a picture of "trolls" being persecuted by furries. See, there's
this idiot on my newsgrooup who thinks calling someone a troll is the
same as calling them the 'n' word. So if you'd take a look at
Encyclopedia Dramatica and type No "N word"s where 'n word' is replaced
