| Sodium Sulfite Solution questions (for Polaroid 55) | 31 Mar 2006 07:01 GMT | 7 |
I'd like to start playing around with Type 55 P/N film. From reading I know the negatives should be cleared (per Polaroid) in an 18% solution of Sodium Sulfite. What I don't know is the storage life of said solution, or how to tell when it's dead. Or is it immortal?

| Warm tone papers and developers | 31 Mar 2006 01:35 GMT | 17 |
The instruction sheets for the two papers I'll be trying (Arista & Forte) recommend Dektol, why not a warm tone developer (like Agfa 120)? Also, I goofed and mixed the120 with sodium, not potassium carbonate. Will this make a big difference?

| Bulk FP4 Plus CHEAP | 30 Mar 2006 00:20 GMT | 1 |
Cord Camera in Columbus, Ohio (5th Avenue) has 10 00 foot rolls of FP4 Plus, dated late 2004, I believe. They are about $20 each. The film is probably still pretty good. 614-299-1441.

| Paper ISO'S | 29 Mar 2006 03:46 GMT | 1 |
Are paper iso's useful? I ask because my standard, black toned print paper has an iso of 200 and the warm tone paper I'm trying this week has an iso of 160. Now, I realize that there's a large issue in comparing the densities on these 2 papers (eg a brown tone paper will always ...

| Dust control | 26 Mar 2006 00:38 GMT | 64 |
It seems I am plagued with dust no matter what I do. When I built the new darkroom, I caulked every drywall seam, floor and ceiling joints, plumbing entrances and exits, filtered the air intake, don't smoke in the room and I still have a huge dust and spider problem. I can't ...

| Can I trim a negative? | 25 Mar 2006 03:17 GMT | 14 |
I have a 4 inch by 4 3/4 inch B & W negative from probably the early 1960's. It's on "Kodak Safety 482". Two quick questions. 1. Was there anything special about this film, as in was it generally used by professionals, or was it pretty common? 2. I would like to trim this down

| Development Time Constants | 24 Mar 2006 00:46 GMT | 10 |
This question is within the context of the subject title. ALL things being equal, if HP5+ is given X minutes to develop, what is the value of the constant K in the equation X times K equals Y. Y is the time needed to develop Delta 3200.

I respect that this is a "darkroom" forum. Where can I ask a question about a circular polarizer? I checked out alt.photography and well, it's pretty bad, Thanks,

| Large fiber-base paper? | 23 Mar 2006 01:47 GMT | 15 |
I know I can still get large resin-coated black and white paper on rolls. However, I'm looking for a tolerable (that is, preferably not Ilford, no matter who's selling it this week) fiber-base paper in sizes larger than 20x24.

| did I make a useable "gray card"? | 22 Mar 2006 13:35 GMT | 11 |
I live WAY out in the boonies with NO photo stores around so: I lightly sprayed a white card with black paint until my reflected-light meter read it the same as the meter (with the incident light bubble on it) read the light source (sun) .
