| storing rodinal | 11 Nov 2005 21:01 GMT | 15 |
Now that the last mad dash for Rodinal is on, what is the best way to atore it for the long haul, ie 5,10,20 years? Given Rodinal's long shelf life, is there any point in refrigerating it? I found one post on photonet saying its unwise to refrigerate liquid chemicals because some

| Durst Pictochrom & the Ultimate Enlarger | 11 Nov 2005 12:59 GMT | 14 |
I'm fortunate enough to have a Durst Pictochrom (basically a lab version of the L1200). It's almost everything an enlarger should be: stable as the rock of Gibralter, even illumination & focus from edge to edge, feeback loop and shutter to ensure constant illumination and ...

What's the best way to mix, work and store KRST? Does one prepare and keep it as a working solution from the liquid (say, mix up a litre) or use it one shot? How long can it keep in the tray? How toxic is it just sitting in the tray evaporating? Some explanation about when to use ...

| Compression Fogging | 07 Nov 2005 22:29 GMT | 2 |
What's compression fogging? What's it look like? How's it caused? Is it real or imagined? I know "someone" who had a roll come back junked and the lab. The lab claimed it was compression fogging. Yes, the camera hand rewind (an M3).

| 220 Film on Plastic Spools | 06 Nov 2005 15:46 GMT | 9 |
I recently picked up a 5 pack of Tri-X in 220 format. I use plastic Patterson type tanks and spools for 120 film and 35mm, and haven't had any problems with loading either onto the plastic spools. But this roll of 220 really stymied me - ultimately I left a few inches just ...

| Digital burying "traditional" photo? Not so fast ... | 05 Nov 2005 03:23 GMT | 13 |
