New Site! Photography Cafe25 Apr 2005 02:05 GMT7
Just opened recently, this is a site that is growing quickly (soon to
be about 250 members).  Lots of forums where discussion of photo
manipulation is slowly being introduced.  Membership is free!    10 MB
of gallery space is provided for each new member.  Critiquing too.

HP5 streak w/Pyro23 Apr 2005 23:27 GMT2
I just developed the above roll of 120 in Pyro and fix w/ TF4 following the
recommendations in the book. I've been using Pyro for about 4 years now and
have had good results overall. I noticed a random pattern of streak towards
one edge of the film. It is similar to the pattern you ...
4x5 lens for enlarger?23 Apr 2005 04:14 GMT3
I have an Omegea D2 that will do 4x5 negs. I only have a few of the negs,
and am considering buying an inexpensive lens to print them. I see there is
a Schneider Componon 5.6 150mm on Ebay for sale at a low starting price. Is
this a reasonable lens for what I want to do? Is there ...

Anyone Heard the Omega D5V-XL Enlarger?21 Apr 2005 03:56 GMT81
A seller called me and said he got a used Omega D5V-XL Enlarger. I did
not heard it before, and after a google search, I found only D2V.  Does
anyone have any ideal about this product?  Can it use 50mm lens?  Can
it use Rodenstock ?

Bessler 23C II20 Apr 2005 03:11 GMT9
I have a question about a Bessler 23C II, which I Love to use, the problem
is it got shorted out when a water pipe leaked onto it.  I took it to the
shop for repairs, everything works great with one exception, the timer goes
off, but the lamp does not.  Any idea where I can get a ...

Warming up a coldlite19 Apr 2005 23:25 GMT4
Do any of you using a coldlite see the need to warm it up for a period
before using it? The older version (not for VC ) I've used for a long
time and have never seen fluctuations, and have never needed a voltage
stabilizer to guarantee repeated times. My year old VC model, yesterday

Sharpness Redux19 Apr 2005 17:41 GMT26
Back to sharpness for a moment. Does pushing film inherantly reduce
sharpness? The reason I'm asking is I "had" to push a roll last week --
really dimly lit room could not flash because a new born was present.
Normally I avoid pushing. I pushed TMY to 800. I added about 25 per cent ...
Developer Additive19 Apr 2005 14:11 GMT4
Back in the 70's I used a developer additive called Factor 8.  It allowed
exposure of Tri-X at EI 6400 with quite good shadow detail.  It long ago
disappeared from the market.  Does anyone have any idea of a formula to
obtain these results?  I doubt that it really gave me 6400, ...
