| Precipitate in once-used D-76 & fixer | 31 Mar 2005 17:51 GMT | 1 |
I processed 10 4x5 negatives in 2 liters of D-76 about 3 weeks ago. There is now a black-ish floculent precipitate in the developer. What is it, and do I need to filter it out before using it again? Can I dilute this 1:1, or is that best done with fresh stock?

| A Simple Processing Of Color Negs? | 31 Mar 2005 03:35 GMT | 28 |
Is there a simple way to process color negs without investing in a Jobo or other moderately expensive system? How critical is controlled development anyway? Cannot shifts in colors be compensated in the enlarger by a turn of the knob? Or on the scanner with a tweak of the histogram? ...

| Pan-F with Rodinal (1:100) | 29 Mar 2005 16:44 GMT | 18 |
Can anyone tell me if it's possible to process Pan-F in Rodinal at 1:100 and still end up with it at iso 50? All the tables of development either have it at 1:25 or 1:50 for an end result of iso 50 ,,, or they have it processing in a dilution

| Storage Life Question About D-76 Solution | 29 Mar 2005 10:07 GMT | 6 |
I mix D-76 from raw ingredients. Formulas are always in the spec of 1 litre, but I heard that I can only storage the developer for 2 weeks in the normal temperature. My question is: 1) I think 1L is too much for me for I only take 2 rolls per month.

Hi all. I would like to find a foot switch that turns an electric appliance, such as a light, on and off. I know they exist because a floor lamp I have has one. I want to be able to turn my inspection light in the darkroom on and off without using my wet hands. I'd plug

| Footswitch for Chromegacontrol | 27 Mar 2005 04:17 GMT | 2 |
Forgive, but I'm an electrics idiot. I would like to make a footswitch for a Chromegacontrol power supply. The stock number is 461058; four pins in a circle, one central hole which I think (not sure) is just a locator. Yes, I know they are commercially available. Spendy things, ...

| How "clear" should the unexposed parts be? | 27 Mar 2005 01:40 GMT | 8 |
I am processing Ilford FP4 and HP5 4x5 sheet film. I've processed 10 negatives, and accidentally processed 2 unexposed sheets of the HP5 (400 ASA). I was surprised to find that the film is not perfectly clear. I'm not sure if what I am seeing is airport (Heathrow) X-ray fog
