| enlarger lens without click stops | 28 Feb 2005 07:54 GMT | 7 |
I have been using Fujinon EP 50mm/3.5 for printing, and the lens is really very good. But one problem is it does not have click stops. I have on several occassions switched on the enlarger before stopping the lens down to working aperture. And I am never sure if I have set

| KRST questions | 27 Feb 2005 20:36 GMT | 4 |
I have a batch of Kodak Rapid Selenium Toner 1:9 mixed several years ago. I last used it maybe 18 months ago and it has been stored at room temperature in an amber glass bottle since then. The other day I pulled it out to tone some prints and noticed a black residue

| Neofin Blu still good? | 27 Feb 2005 15:04 GMT | 4 |
I was recently given a package of Neofin Blu developer. The liquid is dark brown. Before wasting time & film on it, is it normal or o.k. for it to be brown or is that a sure sign of oxidation?

| Setting up a darkroom? | 27 Feb 2005 13:05 GMT | 20 |
I'd sort of like to set up my own darkroom to develop my negatives and then print them. My two main questions are: 1. Is there any way to darken an extra bedroom enough to use it as a darkroom?

| How does choice of developer affect film speed? | 26 Feb 2005 13:35 GMT | 20 |
Greetings. I have read many posts stating that a particular developer could "give true film speed increase," and wonder what is meant by this. What particularly confuses me is that the same photographers shoot the film at the factory recommended ISO, so where does the speed

| Opinions on Paper | 26 Feb 2005 04:00 GMT | 13 |
I'm pretty new to darkroom work, and I'm getting back into processing prints in the darkroom after a long time (I havent done it since high school about 14 years ago)... Does anyone have any comments or opinions about these (resin coated) papers? They're the ones available to me ...

| Drying FB Paper | 25 Feb 2005 00:51 GMT | 39 |
I am pretty handy in the darkroom in terms of getting the image I want onto my nice easy RC paper, but I've agreed to sell someone one of my prints for a pretty good chunk, and I'll be shipping him the print on 11x14 fibre paper, which I have never used.

| Getting emulsion off film | 25 Feb 2005 00:18 GMT | 3 |
I was just wondering if it is possible to get emulsion off film and use it to make transfers of any sort. I've got access to some very cheap ortho film in huge sheets, so it would work out far cheaper than using polaroid. Thanks for any help

| Airport security and film | 24 Feb 2005 21:52 GMT | 6 |
I just got onto this newsgroup and I have a quick question. I shoot primarily high speed film and so far, I've had relatively few problems taking my 400 film through the airport x-ray. Recently I even bought one of those lead thingies to help with my higher speed film or

| can expired film cause thin negatives? | 22 Feb 2005 17:59 GMT | 5 |
I developed 3 rolls of film at Kodak's recommended times in Xtol 1:1. The fresh TMax 400 came out fine. My two rolls of expired TMax 100 (the original stuff) can out very thin...they expired a year ago. I had to print at grade 5 to get something marginally usable. There was ...
