Anybody got experience with developing out dated color reversal film
as BW reversal?  I have done this on Kodachrome and it worked.
But this is special film.
I develop my own Super-8 films (50ft) BW rev in a LOMO tank.

according to your experience or from what you've heard from the masters of
photography, which are the best darkroom manuals one can find? (I mean from
beginner to advanced books, covering each field and every tecnique)

I'm shooting PX-125. Using the density function of my scanner I measure the
base on clear piece of developed film to be about .42 density units. So at
0.15 d.u.'s per half stop that's nearly a stop-and-a-half loss for base +
fog. Is that too much? What's base + fog costing me in ...

Does D-76 turn brown (in solution) like Dektol does when it has expired?
 I have some D-76 that is still clear.  I know that color is a reliable
indication as to the condition of Dektol, but I'm not sure about D-76.
