Anyone use Tetenal chem?31 Jan 2005 20:44 GMT5
The shop I usually get my stuff from has got a very limited range of stuff
in now, so, being as I pass the Tetenal office every week, I think I'll be
trying their chemical when I next need to restock.
Has anyone got any good/bad views on their chemicals?
test strips for large enlargements31 Jan 2005 12:33 GMT18
Again, wanting to do larger size prints, I need to tackle the idea of
test strips for exposure. Having priced 16"x20" paper and keeping in
mind that this is just a hobby for me, I'd like to reduce my cost as
much as is reasonable without being a complete cheapskate. My idea is
scanner suggestions31 Jan 2005 12:27 GMT48
Don't butcher me...hear me out. I still do regular darkroom stuff, but am
interested in screwing around--a little--with PS. I shoot mainly mf stuff
(6x6, thru 6x9), and some 4x5 stuff too.
Have any of you regular darkroom types gone over? I don't intend to do it
Leaving the Wet Darkroom?31 Jan 2005 12:09 GMT37
First, I did think long and hard about posting this to R.P.Digital but
after looking at the posts there, I decided that I needed the advice of
people who were more involved in the wet process. I have contributed to
many of the analog newsgroups for years so please try not to flame ...
Paper negatives30 Jan 2005 19:53 GMT2
I've got an old Polaroid camera that I was thinking of using for paper
negatives.Years ago I read a article in one of the photo magazines about
the street photographers in Tijuana Mexico using paper negatives. I was
wondering if anyone had any experience with paper negatives.

Thx a lot!

Is there an advantage in either 120 volt vs 220 volt enlargers?
Thank you.

Darkroom size26 Jan 2005 19:00 GMT39
I'm thinking of building a darkroom. I seem to have two options:
1) a roughly 8x8 foot (2.4m) space that will become available this
summer. It has plumbing, electric and ventilation already.
2) the space over a 2 car garage that won't be built for at least a year.

Does anybody have experience with Tri-X 400 @ 1600 in Rodinal Special?
6 minutes at 20 C works fine for film exposed at 400.

Flow meters: a blessing in disguise. a pleasant luxury for the last darkroom? 26 Jan 2005 00:28 GMT4
With several washers, a processor or two, that could be operating
simultaneously, how do you determine the  distribution/use of flow meters?
One for each type of usage?  Is it a  just convenience to quickly adjust
volumes, or  a quick on-going  visual monitoring check to make sure ...
sharpest film currently on the market?25 Jan 2005 18:59 GMT63
Is my understanding correct that Kodak's TechPan is part of the
past?  If so, what is the sharpest, or smallest grain film out
there these days?  I took this image with a DSLR:

Delta 400, Tmax 400; Delta 100, Tmax 100, FP 125; plus Pan F 5025 Jan 2005 17:59 GMT5
I had quite a good time with Kodak Verichrome-pan 125 + PMK. I miss
that since VP is discontinued. I like it with Rodinal 1+150+standing
too.
Now I'm back to the BW darkroom, after a not so successful wondering
