Help Understanding Densitometer Readings+30 Nov 2004 09:58 GMT19
Hi. I'm trying to figure out if my development times, agitation, etc., are
correct, so I did the following. Any help will be greatly appreciated:
I shot two sheets of Tri-X (TXP) at EI 250 developed in HC110 (from stock,
diluted 1+10 for 8 min).
K-14 Oopsies! (yeah, you know in BW chemistry)29 Nov 2004 23:10 GMT14
I have a question regarding some "fun" with developing K14process
(KP40)  in regular BW chemistry.  I did an 8 hour development (hey,
why not?) in 1/2 tsp rodinal with 1/2 tsp sodium sulfite.
Once washed, etc I took the film out of the spool and the emulsion
Fuji Acros and Neopan29 Nov 2004 20:51 GMT10
I've been experimenting with Fuji ACROS 100 and Neopan 400 recently as a
possible alternative to my standard Delta 100 and 400 in the event that
Ilford actually goes under.  I'm getting very nice results with the
following developer and times.
Glass cleaner spot28 Nov 2004 16:34 GMT9
Hi, this is the matter. I've an old photo having a large blue spot
(6-7 cm of diameter) on a corner. This is due to an improper use of
glass cleaner used on the glass protecting the picture. The blue is
the dye of the glass cleaner, methylene blue or similar. The big spot
Phew!  What happened in my darkroom?27 Nov 2004 21:56 GMT1
I discovered a half-full bottle of wash aid (Kodak) stock solution
today in my darkroom.  It was mixed in 2001 (!) so I figured I
ought to dump it.  As soon as I opened it there was a vicious
nasty sharp smell - right down the sink with it and turn on the
Municipal Water versus Well Water.27 Nov 2004 14:19 GMT16
For many years I have been using well water for my photographic processing.
Since I will be moving from my current location, to a home with Chlorinated
municipal supply I am wondering about whether filtering the chlorine out
is an advised practice, & (Is there an easy way to do ...
Is there a Zone System for poor people?27 Nov 2004 09:37 GMT33
I've been reading about the zone system and I'd like to start
experimenting with it... the only problem is I can't afford a
densitometer to do my calibrations.  Is there point in trying to use
the zone system without calibrating?  What about using a scanner as a

Removing water marks from negatives25 Nov 2004 01:21 GMT25
I processed a roll of Ilford film the other night (first attempt at this!).
The developing went fine, and before hanging the negatives to dry I put some
rinse aid through the tank.
However, I have water marks on the negs now they are dry, which show up on
Kodak Tech Pan24 Nov 2004 21:08 GMT5
Does anyone know of a development time for Kodak Technical Pan film using
Ilford D&D developer at 75 degrees F?
Thanks in Advance,

Q:  Film Dryer.23 Nov 2004 19:13 GMT24
Hello.  I'm looking for a film (35mm format) dryer.  Buying one
outright is too expensive for me.  So, it's down to a DIY solution.
And I'm wondering which one would be a better solution:  buying a
portable closet such as this one
