Phenidon-base paper developer30 Sep 2004 20:34 GMT14
Recently I was told that i would get richer blacks if I used a Phenidon-Base
developer when printing on Ilford MG.  I use Polymax developer with list
phenol-sulfate.  Is Polymax T paper develop Phenidon-Based?  And does it really
give me the riches blacks?  What about Dextol with ...
JandC Pro 100 - 120 B&W - $1.19 Per Roll30 Sep 2004 18:54 GMT16
Like to do photography on the cheap? I think J&C's $1.19 120
film is the lowest price that can be found. That's a one roll
at a time price. Can anybody do better? or is it worse?
BTW, has anybody given it a try?                          Dan
Enlarger lens thread size30 Sep 2004 08:55 GMT7
I need to have a new lens board made for my Kodak Precision enlarger,
to take an 80mm Componon-S lens. The board is 3mm thick and there is
not enough thread sticking out the back to get a retaining ring on.
I'm therefore thinking about getting a local engineering workshop to

Devloping 35mm film into digital pics:  SnapFish vs Ofoto vs Shutterfly29 Sep 2004 01:53 GMT12
This summer I went to California for a few weeks with my digital
camera. After a few days I managed to lose my battery charger and was
thus forced to use disposable cameras for the rest of the trip. When I
got home I started looking around for a best way to get the pictures

Phenidone in Alcohol, POTA, Delagi #827 Sep 2004 03:18 GMT4
I was going to mix up some POTA and I remembered a
suggestion to use a solution of phenidone in alcohol,
much the same as is done with benztriazole.

Discontinuation of Kodak Technical Pan26 Sep 2004 12:21 GMT16
A sad day for black-and-white photography.

Unlike other recent film discontinuations, this one has no substitute that
is anywhere close.  That means there are things you can do with a camera
Phillips PCS 130 enlarger assembly help required.26 Sep 2004 11:40 GMT3
I bought one of these enlargers and have 2 things left - a piece of
glass 1/4 of an inch thick and about the size of a multigrade filter and
a silver metal thumb screw.
Can anyone enlighten me as to where in the enlarger these go?
35mm on grade 3 explained26 Sep 2004 02:47 GMT124
I have often stated that 35mm film should be developed to print on
(about) grade 3 rather than grade 2.
Here is the explanation, from Kodak, in 'Kodak Films for
Black-and-White Photography', 1960.:
old film - what to do?25 Sep 2004 12:02 GMT3
My SO bought me a box of old film/
darkroom stuff she had found at a
garage sale.  The box contained
several rolls of 40s vintage Kodachrome,
Freezing bulk-loaded film24 Sep 2004 22:44 GMT5
I'm interested in starting to roll my own Pan F+ and Tech Pan, but
tend to go through film rather slowly, so I'm thinking of periodically
putting a full 50'(?) spool onto cartridges and then freezing them.
Does anyone have experience freezing home-rolled cartridges?  I'm
Best B&W Exposure Index and Contrast Index for Scanning24 Sep 2004 00:36 GMT13
