| Ansco Type 282 Film | 14 Jul 2004 21:17 GMT | 4 |
Does anyone know anything about Ansco Type 282 Panchromatic film. What would its approximate speed have been? I have no idea about how old this film must be only that there are several boxes and I thought to open one to try it.

| ALDEN-74 BULK FILM LOADER - This will be in 35mm and darkroom and no other postings | 14 Jul 2004 21:06 GMT | 1 |
One reason wanting to use this is that it will keep track of how many feet and inches you have pulled over the gears in it. With my other film loader I really just used it as a light-safe. I had measured out how much film I needed for 35 frames without losing so much to trim

I know I shouldn't have an orange base but what should the colour be? Greyish? Or clear? Thanks Nick

| All being is sorrow. | 14 Jul 2004 01:54 GMT | 23 |
I wonder how much the tool-oriented nature of both photography and computers biases our discussion of digital photography. (Don't most of Usenet's photo discussion groups - or at least the lively ones - focus on technique and equipment rather than photo content?)

| Ferraniacolor regular 8mm, 25 asa, dated 1967 | 13 Jul 2004 17:17 GMT | 16 |
Does anybody have any idea of what process was required in order to develop Ferraniacolor regular 8mm, 25 asa daylight, dated about 1967? It looks to me that it may well be E2 or E4 or a similar process, but I am not sure, since at the time Ferrania use to be in co-operation with

| Photoemulsion on Aluminum, help | 12 Jul 2004 13:16 GMT | 2 |
Last year I experimented with trying Liquid Light emulsion on aluminum. I tried using aluminum flashing (for roofs) following the suggestions in the book: cleaned it well with mild detergent following which I scrubbed it with alcohol. I then sprayed a few coats of lacquer on the ...

| Copying color negs to digital | 11 Jul 2004 20:25 GMT | 1 |
I just got a slide copier for my Minolta Z1, works great! What's the best way to copy negs? BW negs should be no problem in Photochop but how can I compensate for the color neg base? I haven't tried anything yet, nor have I Googled it...(shame on me) but, I figured I'd get the ...

| Caffeinol | 11 Jul 2004 16:05 GMT | 4 |
"it's a breakfast drink!" "no, it's a film developer!" Anybody done any more work with Caffeinol? I was curious to see if anyone had tried it on Tpan.

| Neeew guy setting up 1st darkroom - Omega enlarger calibration question(s) | 11 Jul 2004 06:28 GMT | 4 |
Omega D2V (sngl lens mount) and D5XL (turret), both wall mounted with enlarger(s) base plate now 6 3/8" above bench surface. It didn't occur to me during design of the darkroom but this (now, obviously) affects focal plane (right term?) as the original distance

Hello, all of you photographers, I have done quite some research on toning with different colors and could not find a suitable recipe for yellow and green toners with common chemicals. I have some knowledge of chemistry, although I'm not

| Beseler Enlarger with Kodak Lens | 10 Jul 2004 06:33 GMT | 9 |

| What is "activator/stabilizer" processing? | 10 Jul 2004 05:22 GMT | 4 |
Someone's mention of stabilizer in another thread here prompts this question. I ask because my print shop has a processor (digital platemaker) that uses activator/stabilizer processing, and I don't understand how this works. I know it's similar to standard developer & fixer ...

| scratched film | 10 Jul 2004 05:17 GMT | 2 |
I'm curious as to how my 120 roll film could have gotten scratches along the length down the center for only a short distance of two frames then skipped a frame and then one more frame. No other frames were scratched. This was used in a Mamiya 645M. Thanks in advance.

| Rodinal 1:100, sulfite & HP5+ | 10 Jul 2004 04:18 GMT | 16 |
I'm going to experiment with 35mm HP5+ in Rodinal 1:100. I've read about adding sulfite to the working strength solution, but I can't recall how much. Suggestions? For those interested, I'm thinking around 30 min at 70f. -Lew
