Does anyone know where I can find this film? Or an equivalent? I hear that
there no lith film now made in the 35mm format. Is this another nail in the
film based photography coffin?

FG730 Jun 2004 20:46 GMT4
I received two unopened gallons of FG7 as a gift. I've been using Rodinal
for years.  How would you characterize FG7? Is it an energetic developer
like Rodinal? Can it be highly diluted (say 1:50) and remain effective?
Enlarger timers - are they generic?30 Jun 2004 16:46 GMT4
I need an enlarging timer for a Philips PCS 130 enlarger. Will any do?
cheap processing, are negatives OK ?30 Jun 2004 15:00 GMT18
I have 5 rolls of wedding film.  I know cheap
processing----Kirkland/Costco in this case----
gives me mediocre prints.  But what about the
negatives ?  I'm expecting to make a few 8x10s
Chemical replenishment question30 Jun 2004 14:32 GMT1
I'm using Ilford chemicals, and am wondering when I should replace the
stop bath and fixer solutions...   they've been recycled about 6 or 7
times now.  I use Ilfosol, so that gets ditched each time, but I'm not
sure about the others...

pure ammonium thiosulfate fixer30 Jun 2004 00:42 GMT21
Dear Readers--
I have a question:
is there anything wrong with the use of pure ammonium thiosulfate as a
fixer for pyro-developed film? (I use 35mm Tri-X mostly).  I have some of the
New to Xtol questions29 Jun 2004 14:34 GMT5
I've been enjoying some experimentation over the last year and have
been slowly chipping away at my freezer load of films in the process,
too.  The likely last one I'm getting to in my sequence is Xtol.  I
stopped at a local litho supply house (my only local source),
blank negative!!29 Jun 2004 13:37 GMT6
I just shot 4 rolls of kodak gold 100 for a friend's wedding.  After
developing at a local lab, the first two rolls turned out, and the
last one also came out well, but the third roll, only the first 4
shots came through.   The rest of the negative was blank.  The edge
I want a developer...29 Jun 2004 11:47 GMT47
...that can give me, mostly with tri-x, Neopan and Plus-x, VERY fine
grain, excellent acutance, good contrast and very smooth tones.
(I don't care a lot about shadow details).

Sigma advantages over other camera manufacturers29 Jun 2004 10:19 GMT16
I put together this collection of info for those people interested in
buying a digital SLR. These are the reasons why you shouldn't buy any
other camera besides a Sigma SD10.

Efke 25 and Windisch29 Jun 2004 03:13 GMT5
Has anyone tried this combination?  I'm going to try for a more 10's/20's
style portraiture with a young model with very nice skin and I want a very
soft result.  I'm trying Efke 25 and I was going to use either Rodinal 1:100
or Windisch for the first try, and wondered if there were ...
Focotar-2 Question.28 Jun 2004 19:36 GMT8
I have had the good fortune to obtain a Focotar-2 enlarging lens. Which
extension tube I need to get to use this lens lens on a Focomat 1C? I have the
tube marked "DOORX" on my enlarger, but I have heard that this tube is for the
older Focotar lens and it will not autofocus ...
Fortepan 400 in D76 1+128 Jun 2004 02:00 GMT28
I know this subject has been covered a couple of times and I'm sorry
to bother you with one more question but...I've been trying to find
the best development time/temperature combination for this film in D76
1+1 with maybe just a little sucess.  I tried both EI200 and 400, in
Colour contact sheets?27 Jun 2004 21:48 GMT1
I'm curious about this. Do you just set the filters to your normal
set up and expose the paper?
