Calculations in the dark room04 Apr 2004 07:47 GMT17
Is there an electronic device, like the old HP Calculator, a palm pilot,
etc., and formulae which I can use in the dark room? For example, if I
determine that the exposure I want at 58cm is 12 sec at f/8, but then I
change the distance to 68 cm, how would I  calculate the new ...

Rodinal03 Apr 2004 22:24 GMT14
Rodinal is not available in Turkey. I believe it is because in part Agfa's
low profile marketing strategy. Anyway, I read a lot about Rodinal and
decided to try it. I bought some rodinal in the U.S and am ready to give it
a shot. It is half a liter bottle of Rodinal. I was hoping ...

Help!  Enlarger Alignment03 Apr 2004 13:05 GMT2
I took the plunge and ordered a VersaLab Parallel Laser Aligner for my 23C-II.  It arrived today and of course, playtime!!!
Well, I wasn't too far out the whole head height range, so the Level technique wasn't too bad.  However, when I get the Neg stage and Lens Stage parallel to ...
a question of B/W film03 Apr 2004 05:06 GMT7
There was once a film made by Kodak, black and white
which was not sensitive to red light, and could be as out
in the open and undeveloped under red light, Pan -
something I think ... anyone remember this? Does anyone
What is "lith" printing, anyway?03 Apr 2004 04:28 GMT8
After reading the recent thread on this subject here, I must confess I don't
know what the hell "lith" means.
I used to think it simply meant extremely high-contrast prints, or prints made
from high-contrast negatives, since this is the type of processing used in
full frame 35mm display03 Apr 2004 04:24 GMT17
I was wondering what is the most common method if displaying gallery work
for
35mm full frame prints?  I have seen some mat cuts where the window is just
outside
Versalab Parallel alignment tool BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!02 Apr 2004 20:14 GMT12
I have got a package from versalab these days. I have purchased a
PARALLEL alignment tool. One big reflective glass was broken when I
opened the package. I told this circumstances versaleb. The response
was beastly. This is the response of versalab:
color drum problems!02 Apr 2004 17:28 GMT7
I feel embarrassed for asking this:
I acquired a Cibachrome Mark II Color Processing Drum to try room temp.
RA-4 printing.  The drum has 2 end caps.  One appears to be the bottom one
and it has 4 holes.  The top cap appears to be the funnel to pour liquids

Documents reproduction02 Apr 2004 01:49 GMT1
Hi, my matter is this. One friend of mine gave me some old postcards
of 40's almost of them are about 2nd World War and some other of
Auschwitz.... So this a very precious material. The intent is to
duplicate them, of course using b/w film. I thought to try with Tech
Semilith -  Is it possible?01 Apr 2004 22:48 GMT10
I've been experimenting with hydroqinone. One print exhibits what
looks to my untrained eye to be lith characteristics. I'm not trying
to produce a lith developer but one test brew gave what looked
to be a lith look. The print on Arista Gr. 2 RC was
