Delta 100 vs. Pan F+11 Apr 2004 07:37 GMT16
I need a film / developer suggestion for 35mm format. I am using my Nikon as
a back up for 4x5 to shoot landscape. Eastern Sierras / Death Valley /
Salton Sea etc. In 4x5 I use Tmax  with Tmax Rs 1:9. In 35mm I tried Tmax
with Tmax Rs 1:9,   beautiful tonality but the sharpness is ...

It's spring and the little red ants are trailing across my kitchen

The ant killing products at the store all had an ingredient in common:
Medium format film printing10 Apr 2004 19:54 GMT12
Group,
I've been itching to get my wet darkroom running again since I switched to
digital. I'm going to buy one of those cheap plastic Holga medium format
cameras to play around with medium format film. I can develop the film no

Is it a bad bad thing to heat my D-76 sol'n above 53 C when mixing the

Obtaining Color Prints that "Pop"09 Apr 2004 22:27 GMT2
I am getting back into darkroom work as a hobby, and I remember the
last time I printed (about 10 years ago), my color prints from
negatives didn't have the "pop" that came from professional photo
finishers. I ran a number of tests with sample negatives printing them

Any recommendations for a regulator to minimize the changes?

Mystery film development09 Apr 2004 19:40 GMT5
As I have been building my new darkroom, buying new equipment and
consolidating everything that has been scattered around the house for years
I make new discoveries every day.  I just ran across 6 rolls of exposed bulk
rolled film, most likely some flavor of Kodak B&W.  It is at ...
Kodak Safelight Bulb and Filter Question09 Apr 2004 03:00 GMT1
I'm almost into my darkroom....question is ... I've got two 20-30 year old
Kodak Safelights, the grey metal ones which take the ~5" glass filters. One
has a red bulb in it the other no bulb. Do I have to use a red bulb? Isn't
that what the glass filter is for? [Filters are: OC, two ...

B&W Color Rendition08 Apr 2004 09:22 GMT7
I've still plans to move up to a 100 or 125 ISO film. The Pan F I've
been using is probably a finer grained and shaper film than I need.
Ilford's color response chart for Pan F is not all to my likeing and
I have not yet developed an eye for seeing that color response when
Waste of space08 Apr 2004 02:35 GMT5
There is more breath wasted on derisory and inflammatory comments in this
newsgroup than there should be. A simple filter with the four letters 'scar'
shows a simple statistic. If an individual, rightly or wrongly, is not
worthy of contempt, why the continual barrage?
Silver gelatine printing07 Apr 2004 22:58 GMT7
When reading litterature on fine art photography the prints are often said
to be "silver gelatine" prints. Is this the same as high quality fibrebased
photopaper?
If not; what are the differencies between "silver gelatine" prints and
Delta 320007 Apr 2004 22:25 GMT7
I have developed some Delta 3200@3200 (Ilford) in Rodinal (not the bedst for
the job), HC-110 and Kodak T-Max. I have extended the development time and
