Comparing C-41 chemicals?22 Apr 2004 01:36 GMT9
What do people feel about the various C-41 chemicals? I'm likely
just going to order the kit from Fotochem but would the Kodak chemicals be
better? I've been very pleased with the RA-4 kit from Fotochem so I'm
assuming the C-41 kit is equally good.

120 development w/o reels21 Apr 2004 19:38 GMT13
I think I might give developing 120 in a long trough a try. I have
found too many times unevenness from reel development. The edges
always get more density despite my non-aggressive agitation. A recent
batch of strong light, snow, and sky, contact printed with definite
Ilford Pan F+21 Apr 2004 02:28 GMT51
I am using Ilford Pan F+ for portraiture and would like to boost the
contrast in the development. Any recommendations on developers and times?
I am using HC-110 at the time.
Will Rodinal give me more contrast?

Beutler development times19 Apr 2004 13:25 GMT1
I am looking to use developers with more acutance than Rodinal and will
mix up some Beutler to the original formula. Can anyone reliably advise
on times (and dilutions?) with HP5, Tri-X and FP4 ( all in both roll and
sheet). Thanks very much.
B&W photos on clear glass19 Apr 2004 07:24 GMT14
I saw some black and white portraits printed on glass in a store. Does
anybody know where I could start looking to find out how to do this process?
A google search turned up nada.
Any help would be appreciated.
Stopping Down Enlarger Lens Focus Question Newbie19 Apr 2004 00:04 GMT18
I'm a beginner. So go easy. I'm printing B&W (first prints done this week in
fact). When I stop down my enlarger lens (exposure around 20secs. at f22)
does focusing becoming less critical, ie. is it similar to a camera in that
I'm increasing depth of field therefore I can be out a ...

10 or 15 years ago. I don`t know what to do ?

First attempt at B&W reversal18 Apr 2004 18:42 GMT10
I've made my first attempt at B&W reversal processing using the
Celer Reverser kit with Ilford Delta 100.  For a first go I was pleasently
surprised, however things are not quite spot on, not unexpected for
a first go.
Beseler 23c and DGA Colorhead17 Apr 2004 19:17 GMT7
I've done a lot of searching in this newsgroup, but cant find the
answers.  I purchased a Beseler 23c Series II enlarger on Ebay.  It
doesnt seem to have all of the parts.  And I'm not sure what parts I'm
missing and what they do.  It came with a DGA color head.  I've

Sheet film developing16 Apr 2004 09:01 GMT11
I've just started developing my first 4x5's in a Jobo 2523 tank that
suits a single spiral both of which I inherited from a previous owner
of my CPE2 machine.
Since large format photography requires more set up time and
Zone VI Archival Print Washer Parts16 Apr 2004 05:24 GMT6
