| Film Base Permeability | 30 Apr 2004 23:01 GMT | 3 |
Does film base need to receive chemistry when processing? Could it conceivably remain flat and dry while chemicals act on the emulsion? Is it at all permeable, and does it need as adequate a washing as the

| EFKE developement | 30 Apr 2004 07:58 GMT | 3 |
I am specifically referring to EFKE KB25 (also PL25, which is the lge format version. I used the 35mm last year, developing in Rodinal. However given a sunny day and the tonal range went crazy. I shot some

| Mexican Mattboards | 28 Apr 2004 21:58 GMT | 5 |
If there is one item that I feel is just too expensive in photography, it's matt boards. Archival rag boards 2ply and 4ply, even at Light Impressions is just too much, unless you're getting the big bucks. Has anyone found any alternative sources? How bout a trip down south?

| e4 e6 super8 | 28 Apr 2004 14:46 GMT | 1 |
I develop Super-8 films myself. Mostly Fomapan R100 using the Fomapan reversal kit in a LOMO spiral tank. I found some old unused cartridges with Ektachrome inside. These must be processed in E-4.

| HELP: Tech Pan @ ISO 80 | 28 Apr 2004 14:35 GMT | 9 |
I was hoping someone could recommend what to do about a roll of Kodak Tech Pan that I accidentally shot at ISO 80. Yes I know this is a contrastly film and pushing it isn't the best idea. Unfortunately I make extremely stupid errors when I haven't shot in a

| Update on trough development | 28 Apr 2004 03:32 GMT | 8 |
I switched to trough development for my 120, to ensure even skies, especially in bright scenes, which included snow, but were also given considerable exposure for shadow detail. I had been getting extra density on my

| Looking for an Economical Flow/Temp control. | 27 Apr 2004 22:36 GMT | 8 |
Currently I'm using a thermometer well on the end of my (<$30 BORG special) brass "laundry" faucet to regulate temperature. It works -- well OK, I guess. My flow rates are a bit of an unknown to me at present. Is there an economical automatic flow/temp controller that anyone would ...

| How to retrieve 35mm leader? | 27 Apr 2004 14:07 GMT | 41 |
Well, I done it again; through sheer skill, I have *another* roll of unexposed 35mm film with the leader inside the can. Now how the hell do I get it out? I know there are leader retrievers available for sale; I don't want to buy one. I've heard somewhere or other that one can ...

| 23CII left to right alignment | 27 Apr 2004 13:39 GMT | 6 |
Got myself 2 12x12" mirrors for $3 and scratched off a 1" circle on one to align. I easily adjusted the front-to-back negative stage alignment with the screw at the bottom of the focussing rails.

| Alternatives to Brown Plastic Jugs | 27 Apr 2004 11:41 GMT | 38 |
My local photo place wants $9 a pop for those 1 gal. chemical jugs! I feel it's a little much for 25 cents worth of plastic. Are they magic or something. Couldn't I use rinsed out antifreeze jugs or windshield washer jugs? Do they have to be opaque? Thx.

| KW Praxidos enlarger | 27 Apr 2004 05:10 GMT | 7 |
I just purchased a KW Praxidos 6x9 cm enlarger on eBay -- it was $31.99, shipped, which I figured offset the fact that it's old and the wiring may not be up to current standards -- I can rewire it, it's no worse than a lamp. And yes, it's a diffusion type -- which is what I ...
