Is this an actual color photo, or is it a very good paint-over?
The postcard is from around 1905.

overfixing in alkaline vs. acid fixers19 Mar 2004 10:23 GMT4
I've heard that negatives kept overlong in a typical rapid fixer will
develop certain problems. Is this true of alkaline fixers as well? Are
alkaline fixers are less prone to damage negatives dunked in them for, say,
an hour?
Rodinal - studional19 Mar 2004 10:05 GMT1
I know that Agfa Rodinal Special is the same than Studional. Is there
any relation between Rodinal and Rodinal Special or are they totally
different?
Thanks

Camera's built-in spotmeter as densitometer?18 Mar 2004 01:41 GMT23
I've read Phil Davis's description of using a dedicated spotmeter as a
densitometer and have found various postings from this newsgroup on
the topic. I don't have a dedicated spotmeter, but my Nikon F4 does
have a spotmeter mode for its build-in light meter. This meter gives

Beseler 810 users - questions from new owner17 Mar 2004 10:39 GMT1
I understand the 810 conversion kit will only allow use of a 240mm
lens (Beseler recommending a copy lens for use with the kit).  I could
assume I can use a Componon or Rodagon 240mm lens, but thought I'd ask
current/past users what other lenses have been found to work.
Paper inquirey17 Mar 2004 05:07 GMT4

setting up a dark room in unfinished basement15 Mar 2004 03:00 GMT31
I am looking at setting up a dark room in my bsmt. The only problem is
my bsmt is unfinished, which means it's all empty and to put up dry
walls to build a room it'll cost me lots of $$$. Has any one ever
setup a room for printing and processing in an environment like this
Dilution Question15 Mar 2004 00:26 GMT27
Hi--What does it mean for something to be diluted 1:50? In terms of
ounces and mililiters? What do the "parts" mean. In other words, of
you say one part developer, 3 parts water, what does that mean in
terms of ounces and mililiters?
YAVQ (yet another ventilation question)15 Mar 2004 00:05 GMT6
I've read most of the ventilation posts in the previous months. I
understand positive pressure and filtration. I've reviewed all the
literature I could find on the internet.
I have a register hooked up to the central air system that is in the space
