Photo paper for pinhole photography.20 Feb 2004 17:51 GMT2
I am going to do some pinhole photography and I was wondering what the
equivalent film ISO is for Ilford Multigrade IV RC paper.
Also, what (of the many) equations do you use for the optimal pinhole
diameter?
Divided D76 precipitate20 Feb 2004 13:47 GMT5
I've just had my Formulary dD76 mixed for a week. Sol A has a dirty,
brownish, snowflake sized precipitate in it. Has anyone else seen this? Is
it normal or what?

Cleaning Kodachrome slides?20 Feb 2004 07:30 GMT9
I have some 1940's vintage Kodachrome color slides that I want to
clean, re-mount in Gepe mounts, and scan. Any recommendations
on how to clean them safely? I tested one today in some warm
water and Kodak Fotoflow. The emulsion appeared to bubble up,
Ilford XP1 or XP2 comments20 Feb 2004 02:16 GMT7
I am hoping to get comments from anyone out there on their use of either
Ilford XP1 or XP2, both 400 ISO. Both films (XP1 I believe is no longer
manufactured and I'm not sure about XP2) yield black-and-white negatives
with images consisting of dye rather than silver and therefore ...
Gumoil19 Feb 2004 13:02 GMT9
Is there any oportunity to find description of gumoil process by Koenig
without buying his book ? (it's still little bit too expensive :-( )
Old 70mm negatives18 Feb 2004 13:09 GMT9
Well, I just bought two packages of negative sleeves for 120,
and discovered that my old negatives don't fit. They appear
to be closer to 70mm in width, and a quick Google search
informs me that is a standard film width. I've heard of it for
Safelab - was Ventilate or Scrub18 Feb 2004 04:52 GMT5
Thread thiefs got away with my thread. It is obvious to me that they
did not read any of the information at www.safelab.com.
From the little reading I've done it looks to me as though a single in
room scrubber will handle ALL of a darkroom's air quality control; and
TechPan worth it in something other than Technidol17 Feb 2004 21:40 GMT2
I've been delighted with my experiments with TechPan (35 mm) in Technidol -
the sharpness and lack of grain are amazing - and am wondering if I'd be as
pleased using Diafine or Rodinal. (I find these two to be easier to handle,
as well as cheaper.) How much of the TechPan advantage ...
Jobo and Paterson17 Feb 2004 15:33 GMT1
Hi Group,
Can you use Jobo reels (for 35mm and 120 film) in Paterson tanks?
TIA
Query about cleaning agents for tanks and reels17 Feb 2004 15:00 GMT4
Fellow darkies,
I have a few questions for the chemically astute.
What chemicals are the most practical and effective for thoroughly
eliminating any residue from developing tanks, reels and trays?
Controlling curl on FB paper17 Feb 2004 12:54 GMT5
I had been using RC paper and decided I wanted to "move up" to fiber based
paper.  I have a box of Ilford MGIV WT.  When I dry it in my plate type
print dryer, the paper curls without mercy; especially the glossy paper.
Using Dektol, Kodak Fixer w/ Hardener and Hypo wash.   Washing ...
Storing of RC and FB BW paper17 Feb 2004 08:01 GMT3
How many years can RC and FB B/W paper be stored and then still be used to
make prints?
Does it have to be stored at low temperature like color paper?
I have some boxes of AGFA RC and FB paper. It is now about 2-3 years old and
Bulk Aerographic17 Feb 2004 07:41 GMT2
I see this stuff on eBay.  $69.95 for a 9.5" x 125' roll.
But ... any one here get some?  Any trouble cutting it?
How's the results?  How does it compare to regular Plus-X?
Mike Scarpiti -- I'll bet you know! :)
substitue trays16 Feb 2004 17:43 GMT22
Anyone tell me if there's any reason why I couldn't use the "storage" type
of plastic boxes they sell a Kmart or Walmart for shoes and clothes to
develop prints in as opposed to buying new trays? I recently bought a larger
easel very reasonably and I'd like to keep from spending ...
Kodachrome (K-14) vs. Ektachrome (E-6) Color Slides16 Feb 2004 14:26 GMT6
I have a few questions about color slides, some of which I have
wondered about for the past 20 years or so.  Could anyone answer
these?:
1) What all is involved in the K-14 process?  How many, and what kind
